Great to see one again! Used to pass quite a few for sale at a garage in Longfield in Kent back in the day.

Great project! Big fan of the 205 and more so the Dimma kit. Any young lad of the 90's can relate to this I imagine. Most bodykits were crap but these managed to pull it off nicely.

Great project.

There was another thread I followed a couple of years ago about a guy who restored one and put a Cosworth engine in with 4x4 running gear!!!

Lol, since my last post, 1 page back I have bought a similar car, in red, kitted up, running 4x4 Cossie.....it is bonkers and I have started to restore it...still got the gti gti6 too so the wife is a little "confused"

Will get some pics up when I finish sorting out the interesting wiring....it is mentally fast!

I don't know...how much was it on for? I bought it off here. Local chap to me, nice bloke, owned it for 6 years and the history file goes back to day 1. It is in good ish nick but is going to be totally rebuilt I think.

I have spent a few hours today stripping the paint off the drivers side floor and found a few holes that will need cutting out and plating but nothing that cannot be repaired I have started to make a template for one of the bigger bits that need doing. Strange thing is that most of this rot has come fro the inside and rotted out im sure floorpan must have been soaked in water at some point.

I have allready welded some smaller holes up and dressed them up just got to get some sheet steel to carry out repairs and the spit should be ready in a few weeks so can really make headway into the floor and sills.

It looks great so far can not wait to see it finished! There is one of these Dimma kitted 205s were I am the last time I saw it was a few years ago under some old car parts I think its still there abandoned! Its near an Nsu Ro80 thats also been left near by. The things people abandon!

Well I have started to cut rot from drivers side floor and have started to weld new plates in.

Rot cut out.

Then welded parts in managed to do one plate and dress up the other I have managed to tack but unable to fully weld yet as I dropped something on my auto darking welding lens so have a new welding mask coming.

I am of the opinion that the 205 Dimma and Clio Dimma cars are becoming classics in their own right.

Good luck with the resto!

Always like a factory fitted dimma clio/205. If they have the right power they suit the kit, not fans of 1.2 clios with big kits, but if its a williams or some turbo technics 205 then it suits it well.
