the new shell is unregistered so never been used its a non sunroof shell which mine would have started life as because it had a dealer fitted sunroof and not a factory one. the shell os not a gti shell but only slight difference with it most notable are rear archs but these have to be cut to fit the dimma kit anyway.

Got the steering rack and anti-roll bar brackets from the vapour blasters just need to sort the new bearings for the rack out then can build up subframe ready to be bolted onto new shell.

Another good day for the project got the call from dimma that wheels are all refurbed so should have them by end of week and picked first batch of parts from platers all looking good there are a few bolts that didn't come up too well but will just replace the worse ones.

Spent today cutting up shell to make room for new shell which will be with me in a few weeks was a sad day with all the work I have put into the shell but one to bigger and better things.
But on a good note the wheels turned up form dimma after their refurb and look fantastic very happy with them.

would have loved to sell shell but due to needing to keep my vin and reg for new shell it had to be destroyed so i can transfer vib and plate to new shell. Luckily I didnt spend to much on shell just alot of man hrs to get it to where it was but now with new shell project can really move on and be even better.

As for engine it is staying the 1.9 that it came with cannot see the point in changing it.

Subframe now fitted and have built up passenger side but have seem to have misplaced the nuts to hold coilover in strut housing so off to the fastners in morning for some m7 nylon lock nuts.
