All those who followed these posts will be pleased to hear it's been cleaned, it's had the correct interior sourced for it and is scheduled to receive some bodywork TLC.

Giving it away is the best thing I could have done to it laugh

Its rusty, filthy, battered and has more holes in it than a labour manifesto (other parties are available)......so just up my strasse.

On the plus side it starts, lifts, stops and rides like only a hydraulic Citroen can.

Watch this space!

Truely a Christmas miracle, almost enough to make me reconsider my atheism. It's blooming nice to see it live again.

Well a very long overdue update, 7 months ago the estate was driven the 60 or so miles from my home in Burton to Northamptonshire where it has been in storeage with a Citroen guru who is slowly welding up the holes and fitting a new clutch/cable and flusing the hydraulics.

Before it went away I had fitted a new correct spec interior (which didnt smell) that had been steam cleaned/vaxed, the original carpet was removed, doused in alloy wheel cleaner and steamed within an inch of its life, dried out and refitted and the result was impressive! it was grey NOT brown!

A pair of silver (sadly slightly off shade) front wings and a drivers door (the correct shade) sourced and fitted to replace the rusty/dented etc originals... and the wonky front end straightened (ish) and a pair of new lamps and number plates to brighten her smile... to go with a uncracked bonnet. Estate bumper inserts, new dashbulbs, a wiper motor that didnt flap around like a demented pidgeon and I rewired the fan motor so it now works from the rheostat instead of a switch on the dash top(and a snazzy bluetooth radio.)

The paints still horrid and its covered in dents and scrapes but it drives well, the worn out gearlinkages turned out to be the selector mechanism had worn through its washers and they had fell out leaving a huge amount of play! I replaced these with what I had in my shed and the sloppyness has been greatly reduced but is still rather pudding like.

The shagged wishbone bushes were replaced with new as were the front discs and pads (with genuine Citroen parts bought for peanuts) in an effort to make it to stop and steer, which it has.

I havent seen her since March but matt assures me shes coming along well, but will stay in his lock up until Spring whilst he works his magic, when upon she will return to me for some paintwork and some more trim and mechanical fettling ready for the weeks touring holiday in june with 10+ other BX's!

Vive la BX!
