Oem sucks - anyone can have a dull oem car.

Oem = parts that appeal to old men, middle aged women and young boys all in the same package.

When you stray from oem then you will always get people who think you are "ruining" what is something that appeals to the masses and have no vision for what can be done.

If these people were in charge of houses, we'd all live in ikea boxes smile

I think the car looks great.

Undecided on the indicators but I know what you mean with the colour....... I stuck £5 worth of fly eyes vinyl on my indicator units due to total lack of modding options for the smart forfour and I didn't have the time to split the light units and spray up the innards matte black.

A car should always be a personal thing - I'd hate to have the same car as someone else smile

Enjoy - you are lucky to have 2 great cars.

Edited that for you

OP you started off with a nice unmolested car, and IMO are ruining it, there are so many CSL styled E46 M3s around now that seeing a nice, clean standard and unmolested car is like a breath of fresh air

It's your car and each to their own but it would have been best left alone IMO

Huge plus one. I'm of the same opinion, at the very least keep the original bits and pieces so you can revert back one day.

I have kept all of the bits. I appreciate the fact that this is a very low mileage car for it's age, a rather a special car and I do feel a responsibility to care for it and keep it lovely, hence the spending of 500 squids for a tiny chip and a very small scuff, I want her to be perfect. I always keep all original parts from any of my cars so they can be put back to standard. Personally I think I have improved the cars looks and am very happy with it. Each to their own I suppose.

I think what people are getting at is that you said "this is remaining exactly as standard." - but then you've gone on to modify it. That said, I think it looks good. smile

Like what you're doing to your car smile

You can always put it back to standard anyway.

Thought I would bump this due to me fitting a new set of shiny wheels biggrin

Got rid of the spacers too as they were rubbing quite badly.

I do love the way Super Sprint is reflected here

Supersprint, carbon and CSLs look great. Can't say I'm much of a fan of the new wheels to be honest, there's something that seems a bit "wrong" about them which I just can't put my finger on.

Got it- spoke direction. The spokes seem to tuck back from the hub and into the wheel arch rather than poke out away from it like stuff like LMs tend to.

Which road did you go down regarding the airbox? Is this an Evolve set up? I really want this on my Z4M but every time I look at the price I think otherwise.

Nothing wrong with the wheels IMO but the centre caps are just tacky. Replace the centre caps with BMW originals now.

Looks lovely!

I've just recently got a red version and bought it with depos front and side and was greeted with the "get rid of the depos!" comments.

If you like them, then that's all that matters. I quite like mine against the red.. yours look good too.

Centre caps are now gone and back to the original BMW ones.

Yes it is an Evolve set-up. Stupidly expensive but it is worth it for the noise……….the induction sound is just incredible. It sounds like a V8 race car. The air box together with the alpha-n tune also added 30 BHP and has improved the way the car drives massively. She pulls so much harder lower down the revs now. Cannot recommend the guys at Evolve enough.

I understand that messing with these cars is like heresy on PH but it would be a boring world if we all liked the same things.
