Excellant point, I did a design of the bracing bracket I was going to get made. The same issue I've had in my mind.So I've designed the wing mounts in a way that either it will mount to the black bit on the back of the car or come out through the centre hole. It will then sit on top of the fibreglass top piece. That way I can leave it on or off, whenever I like without holes in the bodywork on the top deck.
Exhaust has been made and has a much better sound as well as looks. I just need to mesh around the exits for a better look, ill also bend the wire hangers up away from the exhaust

It is stainless steel and designed so I can easily remove it without removing the rear clam. 2.5" pipe before splitting to 2.25" (I think) I didn't get it polished because its not a show car and I just use this car whenever I can.

The lenses and back housing are generic 122mm kitcar lights (lenses is for reversing lights, they do red and amber) all the gubbons inside like the led rings, led housing, diffuser etc... I custom made to fit inside the housingTest fitted a carbon wing which ive decided is the look to go for. Now to try and keep it from being over the top. So im keeping its height low for that reason. The one ive tested with is just a bit too narrow so time to find a slightly wider one.
The exhaust has a nice sound to it, not sounding too much like a little 4 pot.

New wing has come, much wider from 56" to 62" so I think the width will be about right. I couldnt find one with a nice hump in the centre so its a straight fully adujustable carbon fibre wing.
However the legs on this wing are a work of art compared to the standard matt black sprayed metal ones on most universal spoilers. Will try and test fit tomorrow to see how it looks!

With March almost here and maybe one day no more gritting on the road. I decided to get the car ready for being used again over the year.
Had the car running and up to temperature and confirmed the fans kick in and no leaks, as well as testing all lights and checking relevant bolts. Being a kitcar and the fiddling that takes places I like to be extra careful.
I've cleaned the engine bay. Over the winter a slight oxidisation always tries to take place so that has to be cleaned off and the bay made tidy.
Next was the outside, annoyingly my garage leaks and leaves water marks so it can be hard work to do the first clean but it really does help throughout the summer. So i've machine polished it and then waxed the bodywork and wheels and its come up ok.
I've ordered another carbon wing, completely different in style but hopefully it works with the car. I will find out soon enough when it arrives this week!
One task I started thinking about was I've always wanted a slightly smaller arch gap, but currently I cant lower the rear anymore as the gator on the outside CV joint has quite a stiff and big bit of ridged rubber, by changing the gator to a more generic one I think ill be able to lower the car about about 10mm which will mean I can lower the front slightly and still keep the same ground clearance at the front. So I'm going to look for universal gators and see what I can find. I can then have the geometry set back up.

Turned out to be a big exhaust leak that was hidden by the turbo blanket. With that fixed and the lambda sensor changed in the process, everything appears to be better with better power too. I'll go for a emissions test soon to make sure it is ok for MOT time.

You ever have one of those moments after where you think to yourself, why did I do that.
Well I have been having that thought when it comes to not putting aircon in the car with sealed windows and only a roof scoop for air. (I wanted to keep weight down and England never gets that how) So Ive started on two changes to help with the temperatures
1. Disconnect and loop the interior heat pipes. these run through the cabin, I dont need anymore heat soak into the cabin then there already is. Ill leave the old pipes in so if I decide to use the car in the witner I can just connect them back up.
2. a Funnel for the air from the roof scoop, I decided I needed to make a prototype first. So its effectively a square that clips on and then has two vents, inside the box it is like a funnel into each scoop rather than the box shape.
A quick test and the air can be blow on to your face, much better! Works from about 15mph onwards...so now I just melt in traffic. I'll need to find a black plastic box the same size now that I can make the final piece from.

Had to come up with something, I was a mess hahaHowever I am thinking I may fully remove the heating pipes and put in aircon pipes instead as I do have an aircon unit under the dash. I might do that next spring if I dont sell it. As I have the compressor as well ,just no pipes and condenser.

- A brake reservoir is leaking so ordered a new O-ring
- Found a loose connection to the headlights
