Updated the blog www.miamigt4kitcar.blogspot.co.uk

but more importantly the car moved under its own power for the first time today (small vid on the blog)!... Felt pretty chuffed with myself to be honest!

It was a good monday off work, filled and sanded top dash half area. Went to a scrappy and removed a centre console and cubby box for fitting and then started on the side panels for the centre console.

This all takes quite a long time to do though to even get small bits done!

Looking well but i think i would have went for a minimalist interior like the Elise's dash.

Would love to have time to build something like this!

I couldnt decide at first, however i think the car lends itself to the GT style in terms of dash layout and use, being a kitcar its quite minimilistic in luxuries anyway so I decided a nice interior was one thing I wanted as its one area kitcars can come a bit unstuck sometimes.

Been working in the sun today on it and got the sound deadening in.

Getting there slowly!

I've updated the blog, but all the tasks take a fair amount of time now to complete

Just had a read of the blog. You really need to show the proper wheels on here. Those multispoke things are awful and I didn't realise they weren't the final choice until scouring the blog. Same with the interior.

The potential this thing has to be amazing is off the scale. I want to have not known about this until it's painted and visually finished and then read it all retrospectively 😄

The wheels on it at the moment are rolling chassis wheel. I should have the new wheels back this week with the work done to them. So ill get a photo up when they are back and fitted.

Also the dash/ interior will be a long time yet as I want to get the final design right with a rear view screen / camera combo.

I hope I have the car IVA approved for the road by mid September, into the bodyshop over the winter. Then carefully thinking about the interior design as the interior will be upholstered professionally then. A lot of work still but all part of the fun... (So te bank manager tells me)

I picked up the wheels today so did a test fit as a I required to do this to confirm it would rise the ride height a bit, which it does nicely! Pics of the completed wheels

Passed the IVA test today. So the car is now road legal mechanically.

I will now apply to the DVLA for an age related plate before putting on a personalised one.

On a work level some bits will be removed, others changed and finalyl a slightly bigger turbo before going to the bodyshop

It was a bigger milestone then let on. Im actually not just first right hand drive, first in Europe but actually the first customer built car. I cant wait to get dug in to the next stage of making it look like it should.

I want a n understated but good colour (i.e not grey!) also want to be able to repair if damaged, so Candy is out...Im thinking reanult flame red thats seen on new clio's one reason is its a colour ill of seen in the flesh and looks amazing!( i think)
