V10 RS 6 - 757 BHP/967NM
Discussion
That is a proper, genuine, hypersaloon. The fact it looks so subtle, and "correct" in that spec just adds to the appeal. Does this car have a speed limiter still? If gearing is correct, then surely 200mph+ must be readily available.
Am I right in saying that the V10 is no more in saloon Audis? Such a shame if so .... I'm not sure if we should mourn or rejoice that we are living in an era where V8 saloons with 500+ bhp are so common. If it means the world has seen the last of the V10 M5 and RS6 types of cars, then it's definitely a mourning no matter what the advancements in power or economy.

Lovely car Must be epic when flooring the throttle. I suspect you now have a highly tuned throttle foot or use the cruise control alot.
I suspect your car would out run this PH car too

Thanks for the positive comments guys.
The ZF 6 Speed box is ok to just over 1,000NM apparently. The 967NM figure was correct at a point in time, last time it was on the dyno it made 908 IIRC. Loads of the C6 RS 6's have been mapped by MRC to 900+ NM, and not one has had a gearbox failure. The cars are bulletproof, even mapped.
About the heavy launches, too late!
Went over to Shakespeare County Raceway the other day, shame there wasn't really anything comparable to run against, it was a lot quicker than a 996 Porsche and modded R34 GTR on the strip. The best thing was, people were tweaking the cars, and pushing them in the queue to stop the engine getting too much heat in, adjusting tyre pressures and stripping spare wheels and even seats, I sat there with the Eastenders omnibus on and it was just 'point and shoot'.

1/4 Mile was 11.7 secs at 124MPH, it isn't the best for launches with it's weight and no launch control (still did 0-60 in 3.5 secs mind you) but it really gets going at 100+
Fuel questions are dull, but as you asked, I've had 180 to 300 miles to a 93 iirc tank.
Top speed? They easily do over 200 MPH GPS, the M5 V10 which are famous for their 207MPH top speed did around 180 at the last Vmax whereas this did 196, just needs a long enough run.

They are rare indeed, only 280 here that's saloon and avants, that makes it even rarer than an Audi RS 2 here in the UK. The saloon is even rarer, and to get things like radar cruise, ceramics etc etc... is even harder to find. These were £10,000 more than an M5 to start with and then mine had an extra £16,000's worth of options specified too, so I HAD to have it when I *was* supposed to be having a 997 Turbo, I had a deal put together by the Porsche Centre in Glasgow, then it all went out of the window when I found out this was available, I've known the car from 6 months old.

I would guess yours is probably facelifted too? To be honest I'd rather choose this over the F10 M5. Comfortable and wafty when you want to and bloomin quick when you need it!
997 is on my mind as well but don't see myself affording a 997.2 Turbo S anytime soon...
Yes, saloon only came as a facelift. I would choose BMW over Audi 90% of the time. But you need quattro with all this power/torque on a road car IMO, or you can't use it when it is wet, which let's face it, in this country is all the time! My 335D was always lively in the wet and that had about 1/3 of the power of this.997 is on my mind as well but don't see myself affording a 997.2 Turbo S anytime soon...

That's exactly why now I have preference for AWD. I use my car day in day out and I need something which I know I can safely and reliably put the power down with. RWD is fun but nothing beats a well sorted AWD for all year round fun.V8Driver said:

I did think that you would be getting a 997 Turbo as you said in your other RS6 thread but I suppose your not complaining with that sort of power on tap! Congrats OP, a tweaked RS6 is high on my dream car listGassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
