New toy - TVR Chimaera in Iris Blue
Discussion
Hi,
About time I put up some photos of my new car! I was waiting for some nice weather so I could really polish it up and give it a good coat of wax, but these will have to do for now.
If you've followed some of my other posts, you may be aware of my last cars, but for those who didn't....I had a pristine BMW Z4M Roadster which I loved. I was gutted to have to sell it, but the PERFECT house came up for sale and my girlfriend and I had been looking for a long time, so the Z4M was sold to help with the deposit. We love the house and it even has a really nice garage. After settling in and getting used to our massive mortgage, I eventually saved up and bought a 3.0 Z4. Great as it was, it wasn't mad enough to really excite me as a weekend car. So I sold it after just 6 months and bought this.
I've always wanted one and was lucky to find a pretty good one for sale. Enthusiast owned, used as a weekend car, sensible miles and in really good condition. It's had the chassis refurbished with new outriggers, engine is good, interior is good and it even has a new wooden dashboard.
I'm just waiting for some better weather now so I can enjoy it a bit more. Having said that, I've done about 800 miles in it in about a month!

Just finished fitting mine today, much better than the standard wobbly hoses. Was a pig to fit mind.slippery said:
Watching with interest. I really should scratch this Chim/Cerb itch some time!
Had my Griffith for 10 years, done Lemans six times and Nurburgring twice , back to Lemans this year, as for reliability they are as good as any other old car , They need to be used and not just on sunny days, classic car insurance , great sound track and are going up in value.Go for it
Thanks for all the comments.
I am really pleased with it. It's a massive occasion to take it out for a drive. People love the look and the sounds of it, and quite often people will come up and talk to you about it. It has the ability to amaze and excite me every time I take it out - perfect!
Whilst the Z4 is a fantastic everyday car, it's wasn't crazy enough as a special weekend car for me! Not after the Z4M anyway.

Well it looks fabulous. I had a VXR8 as a daily until just over a year ago, which has certain spiritual similarities. I changed it for an altogether more sensible Audi A8, but miss the lunacy of a noisy V8 for when the mood takes me. When funds allow a change, I was considering an AMG Merc of some description, but wonder whether to just hang on to the A8 and get one of these too, which according to my man maths would work out at about the same price.

Thanks. The A8 sounds lovely. My friend had a facelift A8 3.0 TDI and it was stunning. A really nice place to sit. He now has a CLS 55 AMG! I think the A8 and a TVR for weekend would be perfect
