So a update to this.

ked the engine right at the end of the summer last year.
Basically it wont boost.
When not in gear will rev and turbo will spool and build boost. In gear cannot get it to boost. As soon as the boost guage gets to 0 it stutters and slows down.
It also pumps lots of white smoke out on deacceleration. Changed the head gasket already.
So left it sat up as I left the country for 3 months then moved out from home on return.
So now about 6 months later I got to have a quick look at it. Started first time, litterly instantly, didnt even put a new/charge the battery.
Any ideas what is up with it from my st explanation?

t explanation?My brother and his mates had loads of these.In 1989 he had a rare bronze metallic phase 2 B918JVO- fk that car was quick-you needed balls of steal for the handling but he kicked arse of all the hot hatches-only a Suzuki swift GTi caused him problems-the rest were reduced to little specks.Even when he owned it people refused to belive exsistence of it.He was first to see one in a showroom as it was hidden under cover and got a sneak preview

His cousin had C408WAJ -which was a Phase 1 he modded that a bit and his mate in R21 Turbo just edged it at 120mph and then A///YOB -which he modded to 150bhp- and that was just starting to edge his mates BMW 545i at 145mph
Snooker player James Parrott had one and said he cried when he sold it.Top Gear presenter Frank Page also had one.
Brother is currently doing up a "unsold" D reg (as C reg was officially last sold)he has now
