Where abouts are you in Oxfordshire Jason, fellow mk 5 GTI owner here in Oxfordshire. Will look out for you on my travels - cars looks lovely btw.

I sometimes organise a few early morning Sunday runs out with others if you're interested.
I'm in Bicester mate! Yes, that does sound good once I get the suspension all sorted. I like a good blast. Fellow member Booner on here will probably be up for something too, he's Woodstock (Corvette C6).

A stage 1 remap is well worth it. Talk to Nick at R-Tech. It really wakes the car up. My MK5 is now at 251bhp and 290lb/ft. £300 job done.

That sounds pretty good! Thanks for the advice. And yeah, a local meet up would be fun!

Did some fettling today. It's better, but I really need the adjustable top mounts.

Ok so I'm growing to the wheels. Good work.

Are there any 'must have' options on these? I know they are fairly well specced as standard with auto lights/wipers etc.

Xenons and leather are pretty desirable. Other people like 18s but I'm not one of them.
Looks really good on the BBS wheels with the slight drop.

Don't listen to the haters, those wheels are stunning and suit the MK5 GTI to a T. Looks like a very good well cared for example of golf too!

Was a very close call between my 130i and a MK5 Gti but I just wanted something smallish with a big engine in that sounds good while petrol is still relatively cheap to be able to do so. The MK5/6 is on the list of next cars though for when I do change, but might be a while yet.
