Resto-mod e21 BMW
Discussion
Thanks. Seems we're in a minority though. I've had to put the Prototipo back on for now anyway, as the hub was too shallow on the 2 spoke and I kept hitting the stalks by accident.
The new ''big wing'' sump in on now and oil capacity is back to a healthy 6 litres. All that's left to do is fabricate a decent sump guard to make sure it doesn't happen again. I've also decided to replace the Nakamichi CD head unit, with a Blaupunkt DAB, as I only really listen to the radio anyway. I'll also run my phone through a phono to head phone lead though.
I'm looking forward to putting the e21 into its first proper show on Sunday too.

Well the e21 was very well received at Sundays show. It didn't miss a beat on the 540 mile round trip either!
Unfortunately, some changes in my personal circumstances mean I am looking at selling the e21. Obviously this isn't a decision I have taken lightly.

After all that work, I hope things improve soon so you don't have to sell it. Unfortunately, some changes in my personal circumstances mean I am looking at selling the e21. Obviously this isn't a decision I have taken lightly.

If i had the cash, I'd snap this up in a heartbeat.
Heres to hoping it goes to a fellow PHer whom will take care of it and maybe return it for selling price.

Sad news about selling it but for the money you'll get someone who really wants to look after it.

Hi Mark. Just wanted to add my commeriserations for whatever's happened to make you sell.
I'm lucky enough to have nearly got my long term resto-mod to a sort of completion. And have been using her for 2 years now. I would be devastated if I had to sell.
Sure you haven't got a kidney to sell or something?
Thanks for the positive comments guys. There is a glimmer of hope though, but I am dependent on my getting a CRB or DBS check back within the next couple of weeks. If that happens, I have a job I can start pretty much immediately, so I should then be able to get by, so fingers crossed!
The e21 is back on the ramp at ARM today, as the new sump is a tad too low. Especially with the sump guard in place. I also managed to dislodge something in the wiring behind the CD head unit, so there's some issue there to be sorted.

Well the sump has had to have some more attention, so while we were at it a sump guard seemed the sensible option.
There is also some wiring to be done, as the ignition switch developed a fault where it wouldn't kill the engine when turned off. It should be easy enough to sort though and there's a better head unit for the stereo.
The exhaust has been replaced, as the one done locally to Pristine was rubbish. Given that they charged £700 for it I would have hoped for something on par with the rest of the build but I was disappointed.
