I really should have seen this thread 3 days ago before agreeing to buy one of these from elsewhere..... Lovely car!

(I should also read the whole thread before sending the OP a PM....!)

Had the car 3 years as of yesterday.
I've got to say, its still loved just as much as it was when I got it, and it still does everything plenty well enough.
In over 20 years of driving Ive owned 15 cars, and none already owned this one twice as long as any of the others, which says a lot for it!
Ive been tempted away of course, but in the end realised Id really struggle to get something as good an allrounder for the money.

Also had its 2nd problem during those 3 years (first being sticking rear calliper)
For a while one of the xenons was slightly more yellow than the other on certain angles, then coming home from work the other day I noticed it had gone really yellow....

Easily sorted with a new bulb, I got a pair so they matched but thankfully the new one was a perfect match to the other side any way, so got a spare now smile

Not interested thanks, I've got a matching set of non run flat Continentals, I definitely wouldn't want to put run flats back on!

Lovely looking beast you have there!

Interested in the Go Pro control with the combox! My 135i is cic but pre-combox, seeing this has added another thing to the long list of retrofits planned wobble

That's looking very sharp indeed!

Obviously a much more impressive drivetrain than in my 320d E90 work hack, but I'm still impressed by the abilities of mine. I've had it a bit more than a year and am delighted (currently on 184km)

I installed the Fiscube TV tuner.... I had TV on my Alpine in my old RS4 and used it quite a lot, it was always a nice option for long journeys to listen to something interesting that wasn't the radio or iPod. Plus the kids and mrs love it too!
They will definitely welcome it on our annual 600 round trip to Cornwall.
I got the Fiscube one because I wanted it to all be done through the idrive and controller without the need for separate stuff to use it, plus on the E91 its a headache using the BMW tuner because the aerials are built in the rear side windows which is far too much bother to change!

Lots more bits to come, I was close to selling it but decided in the end its just too good, so I'm going to freshen it up and do a few mods smile

Swapped my rear diffuser for an LCI one.
I'll post some pics once I've washed the car, I prefer this one as it doesn't just disappear under the back of the car

Do you happen to know if the rear defuser is the same as a 330I unit? mine is cracked (well the paint finish is anyway.)

Night shot

After driving with it earlier, the weight didn't really make much difference but it is so much nicer to hold

This happened earlier for the first time ever!

I got the windows tinted a while ago:

And then I finally had the fun and games a lot of other Touring owners get to experience!
The remote locking just stopped working one day frown
Then there is the dilemma of do I cut into the rubber boots to check the looms and know you can never have them perfectly sealed or replace them, or bite the bullet and buy a new diversity amp which lives under the spoiler.
The amp is notorious for getting damp or totally soaked, due to the lack of sealant used when the car was built.

So first job was to check the amp to see if it was wet. It was bone dry with zero signs of any damp ever getting in.
Due to that, I reluctantly cut the rubber boots open only to find not a single damaged wire! Bugger.

A new diversity amp is around £250, most on eBay seem to go for around £120.
I found an E91 one from a 2014 car and made him an offer, I got it for £95. It turned up this morning, plugged it in and instantly the remote started working again.
Woohoo!! Now to get some self amalgamating tape to seal up the boots as best I can.
I have also gone to town with plenty of extra weather proof sealant, no water or moisture is ever getting in there now!

As you can see, the factory sealant is woefully crap:

Same happened on mine. They all go. Crap design. Bathroom sealant fixed mine.

I also lost the radio aerial towards the end of my ownership. My mechanic had it out and said it was full of water and not worth repairing. Maybe worth researching if yours could be affected too? While you've got the sealant out..!
