not going to say how much I paid but guy before me bought for 25k ,a cars only as valuable as someone is prepared pay for it , I think its a unique car built from a new shell by dimma in 1991 not a converted factory 205 , the shell is actually an xe shell and is on v5 as that ,I think it cost 35k in 1991 to build I have been told that the dimma kit is actually wider than a standard one to accept the running gear , how many more of these exist ? I really don't know but its got to be a very rare car by anyones standards

I went round to see this car last week, to get to the point.... WOW, it's more impressive in the flesh!
I have a 205 Dimma that is having a restoration and a 309 GTI that I use to potter about in, being a big pug fan if I saw a 205 Dimma for sale I can honestly say I would probably pay more than the average guy says its worth just because to me Its worth every penny.
I've been in some big powered light weight cars that are really really fast but this pug is crazy, when it came on boost in second gear out of a roundabout it left my stomach behind... love it!

I have got the other 4x4 cossied 205 in red and doing a full rebuild...I would have bought this car for £25k plus if I had known....very rare and special car....just needs a Borg Warner twin scroll turbo to lose the lag and fast spool up.
I hope to photo shoot mine with this one.....one day.

I remember that one ! be good to see some pics of rebuild :-)maybe pistonheads should do a feature when yours is finished ;-)

Hi, I have the original mags with your one on the Cover plus the race against the owners Testerossa (H20 won with Tim Harvey driving it) plus the Mag with mine on the front cover....I am glad to say that the styling has changed a lot on mine now (even has a flocked dash too!.....a bit like yours) The Car is now a Car and no longer a Van and I have got rid of most of the 90's styling errors.
I will do a build thread soon....a lot of it is on Passion Frord though including posts from original owner.
PH article would be good...that or EVO as my friend speaks to them a lot.

will look great when finished ! mine needs a bit of paint to get rid of a few stone chips so will be getting that done in the near future keep us posted on progress:-)

Should I add some pics to this thread or start another?
I think mine will be firing up this weekend...then it is off to the trimmers for new carpets and then on to Mark Shead to look at the engine. I think I will be adding a barra big tooth box but not straight cut and then go for the Borg Warner twin scroll for minimal lag and spool up plus 500 bhp plus.

feel free to add pics on here , I like the idea of the twin scroll turbo will look forward to outcome on yours with that set up , mines reyland straight cut box which is noisy but I do like the whine in a strange way :-)

I remember this car from the magazines
I think it's cool and a piece of history, but the only thing I never liked about it was the ride height! It looks even higher than a standard one... is there a reason for the 2-3" wheelarch gap?
I'm not suggesting it needs slammed with airbags or something, just the top of the tyre level with the arch lip would make it look really different.

not really noticed to be honest but just had a look and there is a gap ,can be adjusted though its on coilovers so may have a go at that at some point , only thing to consider is the sub frame don't want it fouling over speed humps though
