[just had a look and I think its like that due to the antirollbar which sits lower than subframe I guess 25mm drop is possible no more though

quote=NinjaPower]I remember this car from the magazines smile

I think it's cool and a piece of history, but the only thing I never liked about it was the ride height! It looks even higher than a standard one... is there a reason for the 2-3" wheelarch gap?

I'm not suggesting it needs slammed with airbags or something, just the top of the tyre level with the arch lip would make it look really different.

Yes they do ride fairly high as they have the Cossie subframe under the shell and the large anti roll bar hangs quite low BUT the original 205 ride height is also quite high.....this is why they cover b roads so well AND the T16 rally car ran like that too......the are more about go than show.

I can put you in touch with the previous owner, Adrian who spend ££££ putting it back together - also have the guys name who rebuilt it, they are both engineers and well versed in cossie engines - there is a spare recaro seat up there too and a red carpet if you want it. Never bothered to collect it when it was being finished off. Drop me a mail if you do - both great guys. Adrian has SWB quattro in his stable

Always great to see this car. I wanted a Dimma 205 so much it hurt. Then the Dimma Clio. Then the 106. LOL. Terrific to see cars that are so individual and show real imagination. Before you bought this I would have loved to see you start a thread telling everyone you were going to spend this kind on the money on a 205. I wonder how many people would have pointed out you could get a Boxster or M3 instead?

It looks great and is really well know so that's always a bonus to it's value.

Personally, I'd put the interior back to standard, same with the mirrors. They just don't need any more amping up than they are already.

The red one is shaping up nicely as well. Very tasty.

yes im sure I would have had a lot of suggestions ! iv'e been very lucky to have owned some nice cars Porsche turbos ,ultima sl55 etc but not even the ultima got same attention as the pug ! nice as m3s and boxsters are they just wouldn't generate the same interest I don't think :-)

all down to personal taste I guess ,the interior was looking a bit ropey to be honest when I got it so I had rear seats retrimmed and dash and other parts flocked originally as you probably know it had full cream leather which I would have loved to do again but I simply couldn't justify the cost , the mirrors I think they suit the car ,red one and mine will be at pugfest next sunday :-)

That is awesome.

I've only ever seen one genuine Dimma Pug in the flesh and that was a 306. The cossie running gear in this is the icing on the cake really.

I can remember seeing two together many, many years ago in Torbay. My mate had a new 1.6 GTi at the time, and we spent most of an afternoon following this pair of Dimmas around the 'Bay. One was Diablo Red, the other Miami Blue. (or equivalents)

This would probably have been around 1989 or so!

I remember this car from its max power days and saw it at castle Combe last year too.
If I remember correctly, it was dimmas uk motor show car from the mid 90's too, right ?
I drooled over that car as a teenager
I know it's silly to ask so early into your ownership, but if you ever decide to move it on, please please please give me call

Hi,
I'm going to Pugfest...and definately want to have a nosey at this car!!!
On the other hand,I don't need to go to Gloucester to see this...as I live in the Castle area as well!!!

I think there was another they called the alien built, it was green a "fugly" and I don't know if it still exists but as far as I know this is the third 205 Cossie, including mine and the 2nd Dimma.....I could be wrong though.
