Worried you'd turn deaf and end up repeating yourself? wink

As mentioned above 'TheRocket' had his at the recent Herts County Showground Sunday Service, looked absolutely fantastic and I can't imagine there's a lot that can offer more fun to drive than that!

Never got this thing, especially not coming from someone that did the desingn of the F1. And I'm sure that if I would've made it, it would've been a piece of crap......but since Gordon Murray made it, it suddenly is something to rave about.

It's just a silly thing, probably fun to drive, but so is a GoKart, Morgan, Catherham, Donkervoort etc.

all about weight and purity (it's lighter than all those you quote). i believe Gordon used to send new designers out in the Rocket to remind them what they were about, and to have that experience in mind when adding things to a car (weight).

And of course it's much more fun sitting in the middle driving

.....I don't work for the dealer, I just like to keep an eye out for Rockets and they seem to sell the majority of them!

The Rocket seems to be one of those cars that doesn't have a bad colour. Bright ones are probably a bit safer on the road in terms of visibility though.

POA is a bit frustrating, most of their stock seems to be advertised that way. Like most collector cars, prices have increased in the last few years. There's not many of them around and they tend to be in the hands of people who wouldn't ever "need" to sell. I guess that's more than can be said for a lot of other classics on the up!

Beautiful.

£45k?

I really, really want a Rocket. So much so that as I know I'll not be able to afford one in the time that they're relatively affordable, I want to have a go at designing my own, inspired by it.

There's a few things that I've love to learn more about - the rearward deflection of the wheels through the suspension travel whilst maintaining correct geometry, the transaxle arrangement and how it compares to commonly available transmissions/diffs, what could be done with luggage/fuel tank if the passenger seat were eliminated.

Everything that's right in motoring is encapsulated in that little thing.

Having been to every FoS/Revival for the last ten years I reckon I've seen every iconic car there is in the flesh - apart from the Rocket.
