Cheers Will, I saw your build, especially liked the floor pan shortening hub jig.

Yeah I emailed him. Got 60% of the way there then sold the project.

Not due to issues of building it thankfully.

It was reading that which made me think rebody was the way to go but still not sure.

So I got a day on the project.

It's now the right length to accept the 205 body. Hopefully weekend will bring more time to move it on!

I say me, it was Ian's suggestion that planted the seed.

So yep, project is way off course.

Custom cage, big wing and some fibreglass bodywork up next.

Getting lighter and lighter.

Had to cut away quite a lot of crusty outer body and arch but the inner wells and strut towers are good and solid. Will clean, treat and make sure they stay that way before I fit the fibre glass body.

A V4 would be better setup with a lower crank. The heads stay in a similar position, they would just come in board slightly.

With the flat four the crank goes up higher and the heads outwards. It's not so great.

Compared to an I4 though, it has a lower COG.

I'm going to have to move the battery to the rear and get a big wing on there to help even things out.

Tucked up in it's new home till it goes off for cage fabrication. Lots to come out the dash still.

Prop shaft going in tomorrow to be shortened. If I redo the front to rear brake lines....I could take this for a spin!

Not as of yet. It will be moving next to my work in a few weeks so I can get a cage in there and move it along. Will post as it happens!

Still nowt. I bought a 205gti6 and had a pile of engine issues I've had to deal with first. Took 928 out of hibernation for a run in the Highlands this last week too.

If someone could fund me for a week I'll make plenty of progress!

No thread yet. I've had a bit of a time with it tbh. Will get a thread going when i know it's ok.

Never buy an ebay engine though. Just not worth it cry
