Just picked up the new 2014 Mk 7 Golf R in pearl black to keep the Scirocco R company. Really enjoyable driver's car!

Also got the wife a 2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS. Will post pics of that when I manage to take a few decent ones.

smile

and a few pics of the Rocco from a recent photoshoot. Ignore the diffuser - I have a love-hate relationship with that thing.

Thanks. Not many pics of the Porsche yet but hope to take some soon. I'll be keeping the Porsche un-modded as I feel these cars should always be left with the factory spec for the best enjoyment.

I've ordered the KW DDC suspension and a new set of wheels for the Golf.

A few dealer pics and of the new OZ Racing wheels I ordered:

Good to hear! While the Mk7 Golf will struggle to keep up with an M3, it would definitely put a smile on your face. It handles quite superbly.

Good point. It will definitely give an E92 a run for its money. The Haldex is superb, the front and rear power distribution works flawlessly. Apart from the R32, the Mk7 Golf R is probably the the best performance Golf ever made....until the R400 is out that is.

Did a launch control with 100% stock components and managed a 4.6 seconds to 60mph. Pretty decent timing. smile

Took the Rocco out for a drive today. The car feels heaps lighter than my Golf R. haha..almost forgot how fun it is to chuck it into corners.

  • minor update

Finally made the move to KW Clubsport 2-Way Adjustable Coilovers after running KW DDC's for a while. The difference in handling is definitely noticeable - it has a nice "go-kart" feel. Seems to be a well balanced suspension set-up for track and everyday use.

Just gorgeous! The blue calipers round the whole thing off, really look great sitting behind black wheels on white body. Top colour choices!
Thanks very much! Every modification was carefully considered and sourced. While I am done with tinkering its performance, I am looking to add the Carbon Fibre Scirocco Cup spoiler as a final touch. smile

So wheels and KW DDC coilovers have finally been installed on the MK 7 Golf R. Not happy with the ride height so I'm changing that some point. The car rides like a go-kart, it feels tight and sharp around corners...easily the best handling car I've ever driven...and that is including my Scirocco with KW Clubsports!

smile Horrible photo but this is all I could muster this evening.

I've placed an order for the Oettinger Rear diffuser and front body kit which will arrive in due course from Germany.

Thanks. I agree the new R's are subtly aggressive which makes it a good "sleeper" car

My OEM Scirocco Cup rear spoiler arrived! Hoping to paint it gloss black instead of wrapping it for a change.
