http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_independent_re...The crossbeam and lower links maintain the correct toe angle of one wheel relative to the other, however due to the relative angles of the trailing radius arms, body roll results in the entire cross-beam and lower links pivoting slightly about the crossbeam's mounting points, thus inducing a small amount of passive rear wheel steering, which may result in significantly improved handling. When the Jaguar components are re-used in other vehicles, the differential is often rigidly mounted to the chassis, different radius arm configurations are used, and the passive rear wheel steering effect is lost.

Top news. I do like seeing someone take their skills and apply them to their own projects.
Inspirational.
Don't fall into the kit car builders trap of not getting other experts in for other parts of the car. That's why we get beautiful kits with crap chassis or fantastic chassis and ugly as sin looks.
Cheers, I do understand your comment about using “other experts for other parts of the car” but the challenge to myself was, can I build a car from scratch? So it’s just me no one else.Inspirational.

Will this have/need outriggers to support the bodyshell?
What rust prevention/coating are you planning on the chassis?
Have you contacted the new tvr peeps for a job? :-)
Great effort btw.
Cheers, the car will have a steel floor, bulkhead and side impact bar inside the doors for protection. To seal the metal work I will spray paint it at each stage during construction with cellulose paint. When finished 2 pack paint will be used for the body and some sort of sealant for the underside. What rust prevention/coating are you planning on the chassis?

The speed you're knocking this out is just awesome - very impressive!
Looking forward to seeing this run for the first time... Next wednesday at this rate!
Please see earlier post “I have been working on the project for the last few years and intend to update the build thread regularly” CheersLooking forward to seeing this run for the first time... Next wednesday at this rate!

To many parameters involved to say how the loss of passive rear wheel steering will affect the handling.

It's threads like this that make me keep coming back to PH (after reading some of the trash in other less 'car' oriented parts of the Forum ) . Fantastic stuff - just don't leave it too long between updates as we will need a regular fix
Am I right in thinking this project has been running for a while and the posts are not in realtime ? If not, amazing speed.
Also agree you should be getting in touch with Les Edgar
Thanks and yes it’s been running for a few years and I intend to update regular. Am I right in thinking this project has been running for a while and the posts are not in realtime ? If not, amazing speed.
