Andy. Just discovered and read this build over the last couple of days. Absolutely awesome is all I can say.
Outstanding through and through.

I know it's probably more work than you'd want on your plate at the moment but have you considered posting this on Mankey Monkey Motors forum. They'd love this they would. Various forum members there doing very similar things to this. Just a thought,

Mark
Looks like a good car forum but time is always a problem. Cheers Andy

I am looking at 245/35/20 front and 345/25/20 rear at the moment. Wheels will be 3 piece in black (white body).
Next job is to finish off the buck wire frame and other door.

Cheers Andy
You're going to paint the car white?

Isn't it a always. smile Well in that case would you object if I post a link to your build write up on the MMM forum. As I said they'd love this although I'm willing to bet that both forums share members anyway. Can't just be me.

Hi Mark, no problem regarding the link from PH to MMM forum. I will have a good look around MM when I have more time. Cheers Andy

Great work so far, working in aircraft sheet metal myself I'm particularly interested in the bodywork, I saw the home built English wheel (do you have different wheels? The one I have at work only has one set which can be a problem on tighter parts) but what other tools are you using? Do you have a shrinker/stretcher, bead roller etc?

I have six lower wheels and one upper wheel (see picture) and I have a foot operated shrinker/stretcher and a powered bead roller (only me so it had to be powered) If you have any tips please let me know.
Cheers Andy

Thanks for asking but I have been working on a part-time MPhil for the last few years and its now write up time so the car build takes second place until the thesis has been submitted. Andy

Can you upgrade your MPhil to a PhD? I remember my wife going through a stage where she could either call it a day and get an MPhil or carry on and take it all the way to PhD (she opted for the latter).

Ran out of time so an MPhil it will be.

Right, my wife was able to negotiate extensions while work, health issues etc were getting in the way of her academic commitments... are you not able to do the same?

Why would you need to do that anyway?

<Interview>

So, Mr NoSound. You have skills, but other candidates have better qualifications. We'd like you to demonstrate why you feel as suitable for th role as a Dr of engineering?

..Well, I designed and built this car in my spare time, on my own, in my garage, using machinery I modified and designed myself.

Ok Mr Nosound, that's fully awesome. In fact, the only more awesome thing we've seen is the man with the underground bunker - but his engineering skills aren't quite as polished. When would you like to start?

He certainly is hugely capable, to have got as far as he has without outside help is amazing.

As a fellow scratch builder, your work is very impressive, as is your ability to design stuff like the body off the fly, I find it hard to comprehend designing a body and components with no drawings!
I can't build stuff without having it all modelled! As Such it's taken an awful lot longer.

anyway I can but mirror everyone else's comments, keep up the excellent work and I look forward to following this more!
