Yeah, i was thinking that but maybe you made the same mistake as me here.

This is front mid mounted rather than rear mid mounted.

Is it going to be a drag car type thing or American muscle car? That carb in the middle of my viewing platform would do my head in.
Please see earlier post. The carbs and manifold are going to be changed to a single carb setup and a lower manifold. So the view will not be restricted at all.

I guess it isn't going to be the lightest of cars, but with that socking great lump of an engine pushing it along it probably won't matter much ;-)

I use an Applied Weighing load cell to measure the weight. I did the chassis with the running gear, wheels, floor and door beams first and then the engine and box next and you can see from the graph (not using the best fit line) the total weight is 860kg. Estimating the other components/materials the curb weight will be approx. 1250-1300kg. Not that bad!

Top news. I do like seeing someone take their skills and apply them to their own projects.

Inspirational.

Don't fall into the kit car builders trap of not getting other experts in for other parts of the car. That's why we get beautiful kits with crap chassis or fantastic chassis and ugly as sin looks.

Will this have/need outriggers to support the bodyshell?

What rust prevention/coating are you planning on the chassis?

Have you contacted the new tvr peeps for a job? :-)

Great effort btw.

It's threads like this that make me keep coming back to PH (after reading some of the trash in other less 'car' oriented parts of the Forum ) . Fantastic stuff - just don't leave it too long between updates as we will need a regular fix smile

Am I right in thinking this project has been running for a while and the posts are not in realtime ? If not, amazing speed.

Also agree you should be getting in touch with Les Edgar smile

Jags use a somewhat odd setup where they use the half-shafts as part of the suspension.
