MINI R56 Cooper with a weirdly massive spec.

Our old ONE was chipped up to about 125bhp, and this one has 115bhp - to be honest the old one did feel faster. This however handles much more nicely and with 6 gears is a much nicer motorway car.
I have just ordered a Y-cable for the Connected system, but cant wait to give that a go - it looks like a Geeks dream
Smart! I've got an LCI ONE with a similarly big spec whilst my 09 MCS is away, watch the disco lights when you open a door after unlocking in the dark!I have just ordered a Y-cable for the Connected system, but cant wait to give that a go - it looks like a Geeks dream
Are they different to UK spec? A Cooper over here has 122bhp.
I left my Y-Cable in my car. BOO, will yours have Mission Control?
The car gives out amusing quips relating to what you're doing, as in it actually speaks to you. Probably wears thin after a while but an entertaining gimmick none the less.
I don't think you can add cameras, no. But you can draw out a route on Google Maps and send itntomthe car for instance.

The std. system on the MINIs is supposed to be horrendous, so im glad to have it.
It really is. My Cooper S has the HiFi system, but the loaner Baker Street ONE i have has the standard set up. Having actually listened to the radio as I would in mine on the way to work this morning really highlighted the standard systems flaws. It really lacks power, depth and clarity. I wonder how much difference the fabled Channel Swap would make, but I shan't be experiementing as its not my car. I was driving an 09 Transit today, I think it only has two speakers, I can't see any more, but it sounds like there are more and even with just two speakers it rubs the proverbial all over the face of the standard MINI set up!A lex said:

I don't even like minis - and I think it's nice!
I never used to either - in fact 4yrs ago when I bought my Abarth 500 they werent even on the list as competition. However my wife loves 'em and I bought her our previous one as a surprise. I drove that reasonably often and I have to say I have grown to like them very much.
Looks lovely. We have a 2011 Clubman but with far fewer toys sadly MPG is similar to yours, maybe fractionally better but it only has 7.5k miles on the clock and mostly does short journeys on NSL roads.
Xenons are great, had them on my old s/c Cooper S and really miss them. Standard stereo is poor too (no worse than my BMW X1 though) so the HK system is a really nice extra to have.

Some cheap Y cables work (mine does but others don't) and if you get an iPhone 5 you need the genuine Apple adaptor as none of the cheap ones work at all.
The Clubman is much more practical, you can get a bigger buggy in the boot, although a Bugaboo Bee will fit in a normal Mini (standard newly-wed assumption)

Cheap Y-cables work in the BMW version but not the MINI version, so I'm told (I bought an £8 one from Amazon and works fine in my F20).
Those seats are, I think, the first that I've seen in a Mini of any sort that actually look comfortable to sit in! The half-leathers in my girlfriend's old R50 Cooper were like park benches.

Just fuelled up this morning and the last tank was 43.9mpg brim to brim - actually higher than what the OBC was showing. That wasnt a slow tank either, just normal driving with about 200 miles mway work at 70mph and 120 miles A and B road. Overall MPG since collecting (about 2,500km now) is 39.9mpg - Very impressed with that!
The dealer didnt fix the parking dings the other week (some kind of internal FU), so its going back on the 28th to have it finished.
Im really chuffed with 44mpg, thats as good as the V70 D5 I just got rid of.
Crikey. The One Baker Street I've had for the last month is doing 39.2 with zero effort, it has just ticked over to 900mi, so I guess it's only going to improve. Get my Cooper S back in a short while, first and only tank in that averaged under 27mpg! My dealer has done everything he can to wriggle out of fixing a parking ding on mine, claiming that a specialist came to see it and states that no further improvement can be made. I'll be popping up to the local dealers bodyshop as soon as it arrives.
Have you encountered any filling up issues? My mates Cooper is a royal pain in the rear cutting the pump out again and again and again. My Cooper S hasn't had any issues, but the One clicks off all the time!
