Hi Everyone,

Really enjoy reading everyone's car history so thought id do a quick one of mine so far.

First off (don't judge) was my first car which looking back looks very "chavvy" but i was young & loved it! , a Saxo VTR which predictably I crashed the first drive the next morning after picking it up, I was very lucky & mostly got it back in one piece & the dry stone wall is still dented 4 years later as a reminder. It was soo low & noisy but i have fond memories & it seemed so fast at the time, the previous owner had spent a small fortune replacing parts but got sick & ended up putting it up for sale. I only had it a few months (until i realized what i looked like) but nothing went wrong & it got lots of abuse.

Next came my MG ZR which i was alot happier driving around,it seemed like a 4x4 compared to the Saxo with the high driving position but it handled brilliantly, lovely weighted steering & although only the 1.4 it loved to rev, it only had around 26k when i bought it & bar a dodgy alternator it never missed a beat, brakes were terrible though and I first experienced brake fade in this!

After wanting something faster i bit the bullet and ended up forking out nearly £3k yo insure this Leon Cupra at 19,Id always had a soft spot for these & was soo excited the day i went to pick it up from Chester, I drove it back up North & the power was unbelievable compared to what i was used to, it really was in a different league to the saxo or MG. I had this for around a year & have soo many fond memories of it, had it re-mapped to about 215 BHP (ran a 14.9 @ Santapod) & loved it but stupidly i ended up getting 4 points so needed something cheaper on insurance & i wanted something newer.......

So needing something cheaper to insure as i turned 20 i got this Fiesta ST, i really did enjoy this, although no where near as fast it was just soo much fun and they really do handle, i did a few bits like lower it & K&N etc. (I did a 15.4 @ Santapod which i was pleased with), you could drive this pretty much flat out everywhere but it was quite unrefined, i was doing alot more miles & i realized i could insure something turbo powered again it went after about a year.

Which brings me onto the current VXR, ive had this over a year now & although sometimes getting itchy feet thinking i need a diesel doing about 20k a year!!! i think ill probably keep it another year or so. First impressions are it is soo much more refined than the ST id been driving for a year, ive taken it to stage 2 with a custom remap & exhaust & its standing at 296 BHP & over 340 pdft of torque & it does go around corners!. Its got the rare full heated leather Recaro seats, push button start, bluetooth etc. & i average around 29 mpg which considering spirited drives and mostly on B roads isn't bad.

Some nice cars there, you're obviously doing well for yourself to afford these.

Crashing the saxo the day after picking it up did make me laugh - stereotypes exist for a reason, huh?

I remember several guys I went to school with writing their cars off within 24 hours of passing their tests - one barely lasted 2 hours! hehe

Thanks alot, yeah tbh I don't know how I got the few miles from home lookinv back. Luckily it was a quiet road and I was very lucky I hit the wall in a spin at around 30 mph but it stood up remarkably well considering their tin foil reputation. Just beat the wing back out and a new headlight and bumper back on and all was good smile

cracking selection of cars

The 'omg I look like a chav' around the saxo VTR annoys me because they are lovely little cars

How was the MG at the nurburgring?

Lovely selection of hot hatches. :P Are you going to change, or do you think you'll stick with these for a long time?

Sometimes i wish i got the Z4 3.0 i was looking at but as soon as i saw the Astra it was decided, next depending economical needs, a 350z or 370z could be a possibility but ill most likely keep the VXR a while yet as ive had the gearbox rebuilt etc. smile

Havent updated this for a couple of years so thought it was about time as ive just changed cars a couple of months ago! After a change in job im now commuting 80 miles a day/30k a year so have turned to the dark side, the vxr never missed a beat until it went either.

I just wanted something cheaper to be a decent daily driver so i can justify getting something special for weekends once ive moved house & got a decent garage, ive always had a soft spot for fabia vrs's so obviously this is what was bought!

Really pleased with it so far, ive been getting a genuine 50mpg+ its well built, decent on the motorway and rides soo much better than the vxr with 19s! Coming from the 300bhp vxr i cant even say im missing the power in 95% of situations its very torquey so much so that ive even put the idea of a remap off.

Sorry the only pics i have are from the advert, ive just gave it a good service and had the cambelt done so hopefully wont need anything bar wear & tear items for the foreseeable!
