One of these will definitely be in my lottery win garage, always loved them. Well done with your perseverance, too many of these were lost back when they had little value.

Other than the American headlamps (just a personal thing) you have a truly stunning car, keep up the good work.

Well, I started to strip the interior to fit the new carpets and predictably, I spotted a bit of bubbling where the floorpan meets the sill.....

Daylight shing through where sill should be!

Pile of yucky old carpets:

....so, after a fair bit of welding repair, I got Jeffrey back earlier this week.

I think it was front inner and outer sills, and one of the rear radius arm mounts in the end. Was then covered in Waxoyl and injected with it too. Bit disappointed that it needed these repairs, but I guess the work in those areas was around 10 years ago. Whilst interior was all stripped out I set about painting it all with Hammerite before chucking in some new sound deadening and placing the old matting on top.

Fitting of the carpets was a bit of a puzzle, but I think we've got them all in the right place. Just tested fitted for now, so not glued in and seats not bolted down, but looks good and I'm glad I went for a different colour.

Long overdue update. The car failed its MOT back in March on ball joint dust covers, old wiper blades, driver’s door not opening and headlight aim. To my shame, I’ve only just got around to sorting these due to the arrival of this in April:

Have been driving the XJ-S around for the past few days - forgot how much fun it was. I think next plans for the car will be an x-pipe for the exhaust to reduce some of the rasp and maybe swapping the Gaz shocks for some Bilstein as I’m not sure the Gaz are a good match for the car. The idea was sell it once then Aston arrived, but I can’t quite bring myself to do it.

Thank you! The V8 Vantages are wonderful cars. Stepping back into the XJ-S after driving the Aston for the last few months, it seemed minuscule inside. Not sure how Jag managed that when it’s so big on the outside!
