That's the one.

Be careful though as the spoilers start to sag in the middle so make sure you don't get one that has.

Love the work going on and the care taken with your sport mate.
I gave my wheels a go myself too, keep on, its well worth it smile

Sprayed the center with wurth German silver and lacquered.

I recommend belgom alu polish to finish, by far the best iv come across.

They look great! I'm just waiting on a mate who has just acquired blasting cabinet and then I can get the centres done. I think I'll be stripping the lacquer on the barrels and polishing them up. I've got some of that polish in the garage somewhere, great stuff.

Subbed! Your car looks fantastic. thinking of doing the m3 diff swap too but I wanted to know if you had to replace the trailing arms, lower and upper arms with m3 ones when you did the swap or did you re-use the 328 suspension bits?

Bits falling off and a bit of rust is just part of the charm of owning an aging BMW smile

The 3.0 M3 diff is a medium case, so won't need the entire rear end changing. M3 Evo one does though, being a large-case diff.

As above - the diff is almost a straight swap. The input shaft needs to be swapped to the 328 version as its a different bolt pattern. Luckily the one I bought already had the shaft swapped. I have read that the pre-load on the bearing needs to be set correctly or it eats itself quite quickly.

Rear discs and pads have been changed - I've got front pads to go on to shut the wear sensor up.

Speaking of rust, I Waxoyl'd the sills this afternoon and the next oil change is due which will probably get done tomorrow.

On the hunt for winter tyres for my 15's. I have never bought them before, if anyone has any suggestions then fire away.

Here it is as of today - needs a wash!

Still looks good, you should see the state of mine at the moment, 60 miles a day and it hasn't been cleaned for over a week.

frown This is so nice. Where are you guys finding these for sale? I'm always looking and all I can find is old sheds. I wish I never sold mine all those years ago.

Found mine 7 years ago and since then have just kept on top of it, maintenance, repairs regardless of cost and plenty or TLC.

Most have been turned into drift dogs now days frown

Funnily enough I've had mine for seven years as well. Trying to keep on top of it but given up trying to keep it clean in this weather, roll on summer.

Don't give up mate! Took me a year to find this one and bought it the same day that it was advertised.

Got to be quick - as others have said, there are plenty of dogs now. I can't imagine selling this for a while either, couldn't bare to see it go for 1500-2k!

Trouble is now, if you have a really nice one, whats it worth, perhaps anywhere between 2-3.5k? Depending on condition etc, so overall not a lot of money. But if you sell it, you can almost be sure you will never find another one, so is it really ever worth selling....if you have an original sport, even better with the OE BBS, keep it. Don't do anything to it. Just keep it and maintain it. In years to come they will be very rare indeed.

Not got much done recently apart from a bit of progress with the spare wheel:

Untitled by matt_13289, on Flickr

Not finished by any means. I have a full set of 15's with winter tyres so I will start on the rest when I can be arsed to put these on. My neighbour knows someone with a blasting cabinet so hoping to get the powder coat off the centres soon as possible and start polishing the lips.

The last update was in Autumn, the car is currently minging from driving about 1000 miles over xmas and new year through some real grim weather. I have been quite childish with the diff too. The boot was full of water until I replaced the seal - it looks like its been leaking for a while though as there is some surface rust to sort in the wheel well.

Issues are always mounting up, but I like organising/prioritising things so its great for my OCD.

-Alarm/remote central locking needs sorting as opening with the key is getting boring. I am going to put in a toad Ai606 in, just need to find someone I trust to do it.
-It's loosing coolant. Either using it or leaking, I'm pretty confident that it's just leaking.
-Engine/gearbox mounts have been purchased and are ready to be fitted - just waiting on the use of a pit.
-Water pump, t/stat, alloy t/stat housing. viscous fan all ready to go on as the cooling on 36's are quite weak and no history of them being changed.
-Clips on the headlights that hold in the indicators in have broken so I've got replacements for both sides. Going to get hold of some ambers to see what I think.
-I need to underseal (bit late I know)
-Larger throttle body with the M50 manifold with a remap. I've been told the engines respond well to induction kits but I am unsure.

There we have it! It's a big list but I'll be keeping the car for a while yet.

Bit of an ASW post.

Got a set of ambers (minus side repeaters - seem hard to find for facelifts!) and want some opinions. I'm really undecided on them, cleaned the car today to give them maximum potential.

I think I have to say no, probably because it's a facelift and there is already enough colour on the car!
