Santorini Blue 328i Sport

My Dad bought one of these from new, it came up for sale on PH not long ago and I was in no position to buy it back. Now I am. S660 LFJ. It was a maroon colour, individual as I recall.

Just in case anyone comes across it.

Would be interested to know why you want to fit an M3 LSD. I thought the Sport models came with one? Or is it for the different ratios?

I thought some did and some had TSC instead?

Later sports didn't come with LSD's, mine is open. The ratio is an added bonus!

I didn't realise that, thanks for the knowledge update Any idea what year it changed?

Are you fitting the entire M3 rear end or just the diff?

Not sure when they stopped, sorry - it might have even been an option for later cars.

Just the M3 diff - needs to be the 3.0 litre though as the 3.2 is a bigger diff and you need to swap the carrier. The input flange needs to be swapped over but other than that its a straight replacement.

1996. Very early Sports came with an LSD, got one retrofitted to mine. Makes a huge difference.

I am on the look out for 3.0 M3 LSD. If you know anyone with one - send them my way! Especially if they are near me, South East, but willing to travel (sister lives in Derby).

I'll keep my eyes peeled, unfortunately the 3.0 ones are fairly hard to come by. I know of one attached to a car, but the whole thing will cost you £650.

Sure you don't want to try just the usual 2.93 LSD? It's still a massive improvement on the open jobbie.

Yeah there's a few on ebay but for big £££. I would like the M3 ratio as motorway driving for me is rare. Can't seem to find any 328 lsds either.

In Berkshire somewhere- quite vague, I know. Apparently it locks up well, and has no whines/knocks.

Bang on- good luck! If you decide you don't like the extended ratios, I'll gladly swap it for my 2.93 one I've got. Also, if you want to put it on yourself and haven't done it before, give me a shout- done it a few times now and have the right tools.

I'm in Southampton, but can be coaxed up to Tonbridge fairly easily as I have a few friends up that way... let me know either way, changing it is theoretically simply, but very bloody heavy and awkward!

Thanks mate will keep it in mind. Did you see the LSD on e36coupe or elsewhere? I've tried messaging the seller but he's not been on since posting the ad.
