Thanks mate will keep it in mind. Did you see the LSD on e36coupe or elsewhere? I've tried messaging the seller but he's not been on since posting the ad.
Yeah, that's where I saw it. Immediately thought of you. Not in a gay way. tongue out

Even if you just want a quick how-to, I can bash one up pretty quick- in fact, think there's a small understanding of it in my Touring's journal...

My old man just sent me a text to say he has ordered a Santorini blue M3 cab, delivered next month. Amazing colour!

Today I took out the angel eyes, 100% improvement. Awful pics but do the job.

Start with angel eyes:

Gave it a good clean as I'm taking it to Prept at Brands Hatch tomorrow. Took the wheels off, gave them a clean-up but it just reminded me that they really need a refurb. Arches scrubbed down and will be getting undersealed.

Next up, I've sourced an M3 LSD and...................

If it's an original M3 LSD I'd personally get it rebuilt before chucking it on. In my experience 15+ year old LSDs function like open diffs, with occasional locking thrown in for erratic handling.

Hey Matt, nice to see you made your way on here too.

I think I'm going to remove the CDV from mine too, I did it on my E46 and it made the world of difference.

Is it the same procedure with the E36? Unscrew the valve, remove it from the line, plumb the line straight into the slave cylinder?

Rossi, if you see me come over!

I'm not sure Dan - I think that's the general process but I got a garage to do it due to lack of suitable lifting equip. I have since found out that you don't need the braided line - but never mind.

I like the kidney grills, chrome looks a bit naff to me. They're painted shockingly though, I'll redo them at some stage.

I'll have to have a look on the forums, just bought a new headunit for mine and it looks so out of place, wish I could relocate it and leave the OEM one in there still lol

I'll get a picture of my DAB for you later - luckily it has a setting which is almost a direct match to the bmw orange.

Went to Prept on Wednesday, first time ever been to a car meet - there was some really nice stuff on display. If anyone is interested the set is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pokeorchoke/sets/7215...

Here it is at Brands:

There is a place in Bexleyheath do refurbs called JW Transmissions. I know there are a few Kent/London members on here, if anyone has experience with them (good or bad) let me know.

Hi Matt,

I've just picked up an almost identical car! Mine's a 1998 S Reg, it has the rear boot spoiler, and silver leather with blue piping, but is in the same Santorini blue!

Your car was a big driving force in me looking for a 328i Sport, so couldn't believe my luck when I found one in the same colour!!

Well after an overheating issue due to a burst heater matrix pipe and 2 badly perished front brake hoses (explained the spongy brakes) it has another years MOT. Only one advisory which is a small leak from the a join on the exhaust, I may get a silencer chopped out yet to please my inner child.

The LSD is in and if anyone is wondering whether to get one then do it! By far the most fun I've had for £200. Next up is either a wheel refurb or sorting the alarm/remote c/locking. Does anyone know if alarm problems are easily solved? The unit has obviously been out previously as it is currently disconnected. The c/locking works with the key but the fob doesn't. When you plug the big connector back into the control unit the alarm sounds and doesn't stop. The fob is separate from the key with one grey button and one red. I think it is a 3G alarm.

I played around with my stereo colour and got picture:

Quite a nice match I think. That awful carbon wrapping has since come off but it has revealed wooden trim underneath which just isn't for me. I've got a few black bits coming from eBay but I'll get to the breakers to find the rest. Does anyone know if the door pulls in the door cards come out? These are wood too but changing over the whole card will be a ballache.
