I got the stereo fitted yesterday afternoon and spent the rest of the day driving around - its a great little car.
Stereo fitted, the illumination isn't too far off the colour of the rest of the dash. (There's not enough room to transport crates of beer without using the passenger footwell though):

Sorry for crappy iPhone photos, it was nearly dark by the time I stopped!

Won't the smiley be upside down with the wind deflector up?WojaWabbit said:

Yes, but wind deflectors are for wusses
It's also not very well thought out as the seats need to be moved to fold it up/down and you can't fold the roof up/down from the drivers seat with the wind deflector folded up.
I bought a larger clearer one which just got left up all the time. It does make a bit of a difference. It's also not very well thought out as the seats need to be moved to fold it up/down and you can't fold the roof up/down from the drivers seat with the wind deflector folded up.

Wait till you go shopping... It's too much hassle to open the compartments, so everything gets piled in the seat!
See beer in footwell in my earlier post! I think when the novelty of the MR2 wears off we'll use the Fist 500 for shopping trips. I think the rear storage would be much easier to use if the seat backs returned to their previous position after being folded forwards. Toyota must have had a suitable mechanism from their 3 door hatchbacks.
Puncture sorted! I'm looking forward to the drive home this evening.
I seem to remember picking up a pucture fairly soon after getting my last MX-5, hopefully an unlucky coincidence.
I realise I still need to get out and take some photos of the MR2

I cleaned and treated the leather with the Auto Finesse Hide products and the seats look even brighter than before:

I gave it a wash earlier, now just need to get my number plates fitted and take it somewhere for some proper photos.

I haven't had much oportunity to drive the MR2 over the last few weeks, but had to go to Market Harborough the other night. Despite the rain I decided to take the MR2 anyway, I was surprised at how much better it stuck to the road than my MX-5s - I guess where the MX-5s would start to slide gradually and early the MR2 is more likely to snap, but at much higher speed? I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not, but I think I'll have to experiment on track!
I don't think I'll ever get bored of the noise with the engine behind me, it feels like I'm driving something special, even if it is just a 1.8l Toyota. I have also discovered that my camera bag fits in the storage bins behind the seats, I wasn't expecting that at all, so am really chuffed!

Just to be clear, the reference to your ears was about the car not your actual ears! When the soft top is folded down, there is a some loose material at the back that sticks up; you can see it on the Silverstone picture. You may find that there is a strap going underneath the fabric that has got disconnected at one end or it may have been taken out all together. If it has, you can use a piece of luggage strap and fabricate your own fasteners using small nuts and bolts.
