2009 XC90 D5 Summum - an end to the sheds!

thanks for the info!
silly question, do you happen to know what grade stainless that is - or does it have a protective film on it?
I work with stainless a lot and the lower grade stuff oxidises - especially if you start throwing salt at it - I think 304 grade is the minimum for salt corrosion prevention...

I washed and hovered mine - difference was astonishing!
Been fording in the floods ( hit one at about 50mph in the pitch dark - nothing phases this car) and green laning in it recently + towing the dirt bike across muddy fields + doing the whole 2 adults 2 kids 1 dog, luggage and xmas pressies trips to relatives accumulating 1000 miles over xmas - 28-30mpg as I dont hang around !

I got some indicator bulbs which are silver but flash orange - make the rear lights look a lot better (no orange tinge).
Like the plates - shame I wouldn't getaway with that in the uk.
Question - does your windscreen inside get really misted up first thing on cold mornings, wondering why mine does????

Now that I would have like to have seen! Are the mini plates completely 'legal' or something usually reserved for 'Murrican/imported cars?
(I'm sure you recall what it's like in the 'Bourg?)
On the subject of fuel consumption, I managed to get my 2.5T S-Max from Junglinster, Luxembourg to Bormuff on 1 tank of UL in December. Something like 760km. It was running on fumes when I arrived as I managed to fit 70l. back in the 70l. tank.

I added something to mine ( apart from some nokian tyres and getting it GEO'd)
TAILPIPES!
£32 from a Chinese company on ebay, they slip over and are fixed with a stainless jubilee clip which fits into a specially cut slot so that it clamps on to the pipes and stays staight even though the originals have a bend in them - why dont volvo do this from the start????

Our T6 is getting daily use at the moment due to the flood waters, MissB has deeper water to get through on her route to work than me so she is in the T6 I'm using the S60 D5 (so as not to risk drowning my S4).
Always nice to be able to put summer tyres back on!
Having just picked up a new car a few weeks ago, not the 595 Comp, it was delivered with winters fitted, so I'm looking forward to seeing it "as it should be" very soon. A very mild winter in Lux this year. A couple of sprinklings of snow.
I do hope you haven't jinxed the weather in the region now, young man?

We've had a really mild winter here in Switzerland too, here's hoping we get a good summer as well. My new Koleos was delivered on all-season tyres which are legally fine to run all year round. I'm tempted to get some 18 or 19 inch wheels with proper summer tyres and keep the standard ones for winter use as on 17s it looks a bit under wheeled anyway.

She's been great, keeping my S4 out of the flood water and potholed/cratered roads for what seems like forever...I've really warmed to her tbh.
