Shame Aston Martin didn't do this to their Aygo. Possibly would have sold some if they had.
I thought the Cygnet was based on the IQ, not the Aygo.

Well according to the TTS site dyno graph other than much more linear power delivery it looks to be about 118bhp so i am placing my guess there biggrin

But this is bonkers and i love it...

Mate has an Aygo in red its a hoot to thrash if a little unsatisfying. Can imagine it would be great fun with double the power and some grip!

Had to double take when i saw the kit price though, ooooff! Labour of love indeed, love always empties your wallet smile

This looks awesome, I want it badly! As said they are good fun little cars, and I've seen turbo kits for them too, I don't remember the company but the demo car was a red C1.

I love how, in the Readers' Cars forum, you see the thread title and think, "He must be MAD!"
Then you look across at the author and see "yes i'm mad" rofl

Fine work OP. Do these have the CVT gearbox?

Okay so the car will be ready tomorrow most likely, a couple of teething troubles. bhp at the wheels is 120+ so i'm not sure what that equates to in terms of BHP at the flywheel but should be about 140bhp i'm guessing.

Dyno and video will be up tonight smile

Really love this - well done madman!;) That sounds like a rather mental increase in power. I love the idea of a 'sleeper' - well done sir!biggrin

Very cool - please post a video when you get it back. This is the sort of lunacy you only normally get to experience in a video game. Thoroughly approve!

Thats mental. So good. I hoped to do this one day. What are the costs of the kit? Must be mega fun.

Looks like you have some inaccessible power at 6k onwards, hopefully you can bring that down the range a bit with mapping.

Excellent work and I applaud the effort. I did wonder how many of these kits had been sold.

Did you ever consider something like a Renaultsport Twingo?

Love projects like this, seems like this kit will cost you between £3,500-£4k, this turbo kit http://www.c1gti.co.uk/turbo-only.php will also cost you around £3,500 -£4k, no idea which will be better though

Well I got the car back...feels like a completely different car. The noise is quite a bit louder than stock but not deafening and has a lovely note which I was surprised by. 0-60 time is less than 8 seconds and it was remapped after the initial dyno and now has over 120bhp at the wheel, and Richard at TTS told me that the car has something in the region of 140bhp at the flywheel. There are a couple of minor ECU issues which will possibly be sorted at a later date but it it's minor. The car is an absolute hoot to drive now and i'm very happy with it. smile
