I gave up on trying endplate mounts for the wing on the buggy - nowhere to go to - and went back to the old pair of twin pillars in the centre, and some feckorf big seperate endplates.

I'm trying to avoid "Underslung" central pillars for aero reasons, but it's proving tricky to get a nice shape that is also going to be aerodynamically efficient so far. More Cardboard Aided Engineering required tomorrow........

Yes, that's the reason I was trying to avoid them, but in the end the alternatives ended up worse! hehe

How did I miss this!?

I haven't seen it on SCN either redface

Fantastic car and after a couple of minutes of reading it's already becoming an inspiration for what I'm trying to achieve with my mark 3 Beeza.

Hats off to you. Look forward to it being fully finished.

Amazing what you can knock up in a small garage with just, oh, 10 years of effort....... ;-)

I love the end plate mounting could you lengthen the attachment footprint and reduce the material thickness as it bends in towards the hatch? I know very little about aerodynamics but aesthetically the end supports is the way to go for me!
Brilliant work!!!

Just read this, start to finish. Initial reaction to the first post was: 'm'eh!' While I'd never be so rude as to post what TBC did, that was pretty much my thoughts as well. I thought it looked 'okay' but I'm not really a fan of big wheels and bodykits...

Then the second post and I thought, 'this guys a dreamer!'

Er, how furking wrong can you be?

The op and this project are both utterly amazing. The attention to detail and forethought that has gone into this defies belief, the quality of the work itself is just pure automotive porn.

I really do not have the words to describe how much in awe I am of the car and the builder. Just one question: are you married? If so, you must have the worlds most tolerant wife!

Why not top mount it via some pylons mounted to the top of the boot lid - similar-ish to the newer DTM cars?

You need bigger end plates, too! biggrin

Sorry, as you were... (that thing is actually far quicker than it looks, 4wd with a mid mounted 400+bhp SR20)

If you are going to do that you may as well do a undertray connected to the wheels also! there was a guy in the US trying to do it and make the diffuser 'blown' as well!

What's wrong with the SEAT rally car spoiler as shown on page one Max?

Righto, message received, i'm going out to the garage and i might be some time........ ;-)

(to be fair, i was hoping to make some that looked a little more "styled" rather than a spoiler that looked like it fell off a jumbo, via a branch of furniture world, straight onto the back of the car biggrin

"fwd" spoiler to all intense and purposes. ie low drag, designed to balance the car at higher speeds in terms of rear tyre load.

My car, with a lot more power than the works rally car, and delivered to the rear wheels, needs a bit more "Help" than that!
