That wouldn't replace the missing paint unfortunately.

The purple Powerflex bushes don't ruin the refinement at all, they just make the whole car better in my experience, though I've never done a Sierra of course. The TVR, Imp and AX GT are all running poly, and particularly with the AX it's really sharpened up the turn in and improved the steering feel. They last a lot longer than rubber, and they massively reduce the lateral wheel movement on setups like the Sierra has. No brainer to me, if it's already in bits.

Poly engine-mountings - now that's how you ruin a car! Don't do that! hehe

Kitch makes a good point. As a BMW sado enthusiast I reckon purple powerflex bushes are excellent.

Still looking good Tony, nice to have two appreciating assets rather than two money pits...

We fitted Powerflex bushes all round on my Sapphire 19 years ago, all still going strong. You will notice a difference in the ride though. Not unbearable, but noticeable.
When I fitted the poly anti roll bar bushes on the XR4x4, they were the only ones done and even that transmitted more NVH through the car.
Definitely a trade off, durability and handling or comfort?

Hello Chris, long time mate, I still have the Tamora, currently Sorn/stored for a rainy day ,the car just never got any use once the XR4i got back on the road, too many toys not enough time biggrin
Happy memories of some of the meets/runs we had, most over 10 years ago now yikes

Think Harry still has the Green Cerb, not sure on its status, he might pop along shortly.

Last time you and I spoke you just had a Porker go up in smoke!

Sorry to butt in, especially if you already know about this but, if not, it might be worth a try.

I had a problem with facet joint no 3 a few years back and, like you couldn't sit down, stand up, walk about, lie down or get to sleep.
Physio did less than nothing and so, more in hope than expectation, I visited a chiropractor who did some manipulation and a little accupuncture and I almost literally danced out of his office. A couple of follow-up sessions finished the job and I go back every now and again when I feel the symptoms start up, like a couple of weeks ago after dismantling an engine.

Tony, you have a good memory. That was five and a half years ago! I still have a 911 and use it for all the car meets. I am a member of a Porsche club in London. We have regular blasts around Surrey much like the TVR days. I am lead to believe Pub Club is starting again. That would be a nice run out for you and they are local. we could catch up if you fancy it

The XR4i spent the a day last week at Southways Automotive having a service and some long overdue front suspension work; the front end wasnt touched during its 18 month mini resto/ recommissiong so the old Spax units removed the uprated springs were kept, sand blasted primed and sprayed in Hammetrite bright red. Then reassembled with new bump stops top bearings uprated top mounts and of course new gas shocks.
A new track rad end was fitted also. The nasty oil leak from the heat exchanger /cooler was traced to the seal thankfully.
The 4i rubbed shoulders with some decent machinery also it 4 TVRs A 60s Cadallac and a impressive RS 200 replica. Some photos from the day

We had a national meet at the weekend at Hatton country park in Warwick to celebrate the cars 35th anniversary, 18 cars turned up, proving the rarity of the species.
