Alway's liked the FN2 was on my radar when i was looking to replace my Clio 172. I ended up with the Astra VXR, which was in the same boat as the FN2, it didn't get well received by the press and people on the internet. But infact was really good car. That aspect i always liked.

As recommended by Civinfo forum I've bought and fitted some 15mm Eibach spacers that improve the stance, the wheels look a bit lost in the arches before. I'm not going to replace the wheels as I love the OE ones so this was the best way to get a bit of width.

From one Milano Red owner to another: The spacers have made a night and day difference visually!

Cheers, I'm really chuffed with what a difference they've made. Been out and taken more photos. As you can see it BADLY needs a machine polish which will get in the coming weeks.

A friend bought an FN2 not that long ago, interestingly he says it actually handles better than the Clio Trophy he used to have....

That's looking great. I assume that's a private plate as i thought these were 2007+. Can I ask what sort of mpg you are seeing?

Yes, the plate belongs to Gav who I bought it from. Paperwork is in process for it to be returned to him and the car back on it's original 57 plate.

MPG wise I've done 2000 miles in the 3 weeks I've had and it's averaged 31 over that period. I've had it as high 39 on a long run driving like Miss Daisy and as low as 16 driving like a twunt. My Normal drive to work is 60% Country A road, 20% DC and 20% town traffic and with normal driving and the odd squirt of Vtec I'll see 34 to 35 for the day. It seems a couple of MPG more frugal on Vpower Nitro Super Hero Not Quite Free Lego Juice.

Beautiful FN2! Unlike most people, I actually like the FN2 Type R. It just looks so sporty and agressive... and the interior looks really good too!
Pretty much all the reasons I bought one. Had it for 2 years, love it.

I REALLY like these now! Never used to be a fan when they came out but I love the looks and they seem very good value now.

Just how hard is the ride though?

Thanks Hayward!

The ride is pretty hard, I've never had a road car with linear springs. It suits the character of the car though and it doesn't bother me.

Had it machine polished today and it looks awesome. Will get some pics and post them but here's a quick one from spazbook.

The more I see these, the more I really, really want one.
Yours is doing absolutely no favours, I'm now looking at how much it would cost for me to chop my Leon in for one!

Oh, stop it, you're making me miss mine (Black 2008)

I really never understood the hate for these - driven back to back with a friends MkV GTi, there was no comparison in the 'is every drive a little event' stakes. Also, fantastic seats.

Fuel tank too small though - particularly as motorway speeds don't seem to bring any particular improvement in mpg, which I found sat at 29 - 31 mpg pretty much whatever was done with it.

How much were the spacers mate? I gave my mate £50 for the set of 4 from his FN2.
