Saab and the trip look great,if you want to try something else before the Merc arrives you should maybe try an Accord Type R.... Great fun and I know where there is one that would happily swap homes with the Saab...... whistle

Enjoyed reading that mate, it would seem almost a perfect car for such a trip, comfy and fast if lacking a little handling finesse!

In regards to selling and moving on, I'm sure you'll get what you paid for it all day long so nothing ventured and a whole lot gained!

So any ideas what you would like to try out for a few months before the company motor arrives?
Audi TT 225 would be great, Impreza WRX also would be good. Or anything BMW Straight-6 and RWD. It's too much hassle to swap now so I might as well stick with.

So how much would you be looking for if it was for sale?

If I gave it a wash and 12 months MOT, I would be cheeky and ask for £1700, seeing as it has just had £300 of tyres put on it.

Agreed, extremely good smile I'm quite tempted actually!

Edit - why's the insurance on this thing more than my STI?!

Nice ad.

Timing not quite right for this but I think one of these is a must in the future. £250 for insurance. Not too shabby :-)

Nice ad.

May be looking to move ours on soon. Similar mileage, similar age, same kit (except our pixels work). But the paint is pretty shabby and the wheels are heavily kerbed (not by us, by the way).

Suggests I'm realistically looking down the barrel of £1100.

250bhp for £1300 is pretty good I have to admit!

So how reliable would this barge of goodness be for the next year or so?

In two and a half years of similar motoring I've needed some suspension bushes, a crank sensor, a heater bypass valve and one of the turbo hoses. None of them were expensive.

Oh, and tyres...

Not too bad, but if you like lots of throttle it will eat them up.

Literally just picked it up from a service @ 102,000 miles. £147 quid from my local indy. Nothing of any concern other than some corrosion of the alloy leading to air loss in one of the tyres. They cleaned it up and resealed it.

Tempting fate; this means it will explode into bits over the weekend.

laugh

I was only joking by the way. These cars do appeal even though I don't usually like FWD.

It does not handle. It responds to the helm eventually.
Expecting it to turn in with any alacrity is rather missing the point I feel.

Been a whirlwind few days! Car was sold and collected Thursday! Did not expect it to sell that quick and to the first buyer!

Glad you all enjoyed the ad. I am now without car. Back in the Skoda Fabia I used to have years ago that now belongs to my sister, God does it feel slow!!!!

Sadly the replacement for the Saab sold a few hours before I was due to see it. On the look out for another one now. In time plan is two have two cars on the fleet. Keep your eyes peeled!
