Thanks. smile I'm using NAS Bolts for the suspension and 12.9 fasteners for everything else. I've got a tonne of M6 aluminium dome-heads to use for all the silly little things.

I've often wondered what the numbers on the bolthead meant (I'm guessing these are the numbers you're referring to?).

This weekend I've been finishing off the front suspension. biggrin

I had to get all the wishbones etc on so that I could check the rocker placement was right, which was a bit of a job as I had to fiddle about getting all the shims to fit and pressing bearings in to the wishbones - without a press! Once that was all sorted I made all the little bosses and spacers for the rocker brackets, and finally got on with it! I took some WIP photos but frankly I took enough of the finished setup so I'll just share those instead! laugh

Front susp. mocked up with dummy shocks:

Very very happy with that! biggrin

WOW !
Can I ask a Dumbo question. . .is that the Sills in the picture too ? The track of the car looks enormously wide, or have I gotten myself confused (which I do regularly)
saying that the 'plan' view or from overhead its not so pronounced but it still looks 'wide'

It isn't horrifically wide.. track is 1.5m so only about 60mm wider than standard each side. I know what you mean though, the perspective makes the track width look mega. laugh

That sounds like a pretty useful extra slice of track. I'm looking about 50mm extra each side with the Impreza gear.

Fancy supplying me a body kit? biggrin

Cracking project and great fab skills.

Only question is... Your building for sport libre so, assuming your not getting it FIA homologated, you'll be needing to declare it as a 'special saloon' for scrutineering. Which means you need to meet: '12.4.1. The chassis or unitary construction must remain to the manufacturer’s original specification in construction and material within the wheel hub centres. Re-positioning of suspension pick-up points and engine mountings are permitted.' Not quite sure how your going to do this as a space frame....

No doubt you've got this covered but having had god knows how many issues with scrutineers over the years thought I'd be an arse and ask!

No updates I'm afraid! I've been occupied with selling a car and have a fair amount of CAD to get through before I can really get on!

I'm not sure what regs that comes from, but for hillclimbs the Libre regs are very minimal! I've gone over my space-frame with MSA Technical and it's all good. smile

Yeah excuse my tardiness, the past few weeks have been absolutely mental!

Quite a lot of the time was taken up selling a car, but that has brought in a nice little burst of funds which allowed me to get tyres (>1k per set!) and my turbo on order! More to follow on that when it arrives. biggrin

Today I got back in to it, intent on making up for lost time, and managed to get the rear suspension finished.

Very happy to have that done, as it means the car is almost a rolling chassis! biggrin I have a good list of bits to do so it will be staying on the jig for quite some time yet as it makes everything so much easier. But yeah, starting to look towards the engine install and a whooooole lot of bodywork!
