[quote=nsa]This is an enjoyable read. It's a comprehensive road test of a 1967 car but from 1981 so written in the context of the time.

Yes thanks for posting that. A great read as I've always loved Jensen Interceptors, just never been in a position to buy one sadly.

But it reminded me of my only experience of a Chrysler Hemi with a torque-flite gearbox in 1977 when I went to stay with relatives in Canada between leaving school and starting my first job. Their had a 6.6 litre Chrysler Newport Sedan as their family car and I got to drive it a few times. It would hold 2nd to 95mph which was amazing to an 18 year old who had a 1600cc Fiat back in the UK! Especially as the speedo only read up to 100mph - flat out was way off the scale down by the high-beam warning light. laugh

Although it didn't get used much because they had a farm so they could run their Ford F150 pick-up on tax-free fuel. I didn't mind that either as it had a 5.7 litre Cleveland engine and a 4 speed manual gearbox!

When I got home I really wanted to buy an American car, but reality set in. The nearest I got was a Rover P6B 3500S in 1979.

Anyway back on topic that Jensen is just wonderful. cloud9
