Oh man, this made for a fantastic read through my lunch break... absolutely brilliant! The attention to detail puts my own car modifications to shame frown plus it's one of the only cars I've seen with external carbon fibre panels that looks totally not out of place. Subscribed!

Last Wednesday Norfolk Fives (part of the MX5OC) organized a Pirelli evening at STS Tyre Pros. The guys and gals from Pirelli and STS created 5 sections for talks/demonstrations including revving the nuts off a 2013 Porsche Carrera S

You may remember waaay back at the beginning of the build that I had gotten my hands on a Fujitsubo 4-1 Manifold. I finally dropped it off to my friend James to have it heat wrapped.

There is only one cross over on the manifold, everything else is separately wrapped

Got the exhaust bay next door to my work to fit the Manifold along with my un-silenced de-cat and stainless mid section

Heres a video https://vimeo.com/92534266

Photo of the Monster at the EA Nutz meet that I organized

With the help of a friend, got the soft top refitted today ready for the up coming summer days and nights smile

Last Sunday i was invited to the SlamMedia Summer Meet in Peterborough. A day or so before the meet the organiser asked me if i'd like to park in the main area with the other 'feature cars',couldnt say no to that!

Up early on Sunday morning to wash and polish the 'ol gal, didnt have enough time to Wax her frown

Bank Holiday Monday, left Norwich at 4:15am for the journey down to Lydden Hill for the BHP Performance Show. Sitting in traffic on the motorway for 2hours to get in wasnt exactly my idea of fun,but never the less it was an awesome show!

Tuesday morning i dropped her off at the Body Shop, updates to follow!

A good friend of mine asked me awhile ago if i'd help him out with his University Project. Being a fellow car enthusiast,he wanted to create a video showing that not everyone with a Modified car should be tarred with the same brush as a Boy Racer. I've owned a local car club for 8 years,i guess i was the perfect candidate for this project.

Please note,i HATE being interviewed lol

So today has been pretty awesome! First piece of good news was i received an Email from the Organisers of Modified Nationals to let me know that i've got a space in the Top 50! Its something i've always wanted to work towards and i'm glad i've finally got a car that fits in!

Second piece of good news, was a phone call from the body shop saying the car was ready to be collected

A photo from the MX5OC Norfolk Meet last Wednesday

It was that time of the year again for Modified Nationals at Peterborough Showground. My club had a strong 40 cars on the club stand which is the biggest turn out we've had! As you may have read in the previous update,i was picked for the Top 50 which was outside the main Exhibition Hall.

After a heavy night of drinking on the Friday,i managed to gain enough energy to drive over to the Top 50 Plaza. At this point the whole show ground including the camp site was water logged due to the heavy rain the night previous. It took a good hour or so to get from the Camp Site to the Plaza,at which point the car was quite filthy, and cleaning a car in the rain is not fun frown

I get a phone call once i was parked asking where i was. I was told to drive around the back of the Main Hall as i was needed inside! I got the car parked and cleaned,at which point i was still struggling to let it all sink in.

I was parked infront of one of the main doors next to some quite recognizable cars. I'll let the photos do the talking

So the show came to an end, couldnt have asked for a better weekend. The car got a tonne of attention and it was great meeting new and old faces smile Lets see what next year brings! smile

A while ago i stumbled across a photo on Instagram,i took a liking to the composition and location and needed to replicate it with the Monster. The original photo was this:

I showed the photo to my Girlfriend who had stumbled across a location on her travels. So we took a drive out this evening to have a look, here are the results.

Ordered some billet stalks from Freaky Roadster and they came here extremely fast! Fantastic communication and received alot of help with fitting! Would definately recommend getting some!

I also took delivery of a set of Carbon Fibre door cups and Polished Door Handles from Carbon Miata. Marc asked me to write a review on the Stainless Door Handles.

I had the postman knock on the door bright and early on Wednesday morning, spotting the chinese writing on the postage label,i knew exactly what this was, something i was extremely looking forward to receiving! Upon opening the package,i was expecting the handles to be quite heavy, infact they were quite the opposite!

These handles are EXTREMELY light, you can barely tell your holding them until you look down. I popped them on some kitchen scales and they weighed approx 70g (without the fixing screws). The finish is superb and at an incredibly high standard! The shape is simply and comfortable to grab while still looking classy with a hint of retro.

The laser cutting of the M emblem is top notch work,it looks like it was stamped out of a sheet of aluminium! There are zero sharp edges, wobbly cut lines, everthing is cut perfectly.

Installation took less than 2minutes per side. With the old leather door pulls removed, the new bolts fixed on quick and easy with a 7mm hex key,and sit perfect in the counter sunk holes of the polished handles.

I also fitted some Carbon Fibre door cups supplied by Marc at Carbon Miata. Again, the quality of these is extremely high, there's not a single piece of weave out of shape/line. I think they compliment the KG Works handles extremely well and helps bring in some Carbon Fibre to the interior of the car.

Another purchase i've recently made is a set of Runabout M2 Mirrors

I removed the door mirrors on my lunch break at work and the holes on the M2 bases don't line up with the original holes in the door. The mirrors were supplied with the rubber gaskets and a plastic block with two threaded holes.

With the M2 mirror base on the door, they do just about cover the original holes, but the mirror mounting holes are further in,central to the mirror.

Someone has suggested drilling two new holes and riv-nut them on. I'm taking a visit to the body shop tomorrow to see what they say smile

Looks amazing, starting to look kind of Steampunk-y with all the quilted leather and stainless steel! Keep it coming...

i would be inclined to put the mirrors on the wings as it seems you have a retroish theme on this anyway.

To be honest I find this part of the forum and indeed this thread quite refreshing from the usual snotty lot as it is more about the readers take on cars and being individual hippy
Keep up the good work.

That's a nice looking Mx-5. If I was being picky the exhaust, gearknob and steering wheel are a bit OTT for me but other than that it's very nice. smile Never seen those billet control stalks before is that a new mod inspired by stuff like the Veyron and Pagani? Just out of curiosity how much did they cost?

I know alot of the car is very marmite smile The stalks were £100 plain or £150 engraved

Won some P5 Frame Rails on eBay for a good price

After the Runabout M2 mirrors not bolting directly on,i sold them and purchased some Autoblaze mirrors from a friend that needed a refurb

Also fitted my Ron Tribute sticker

So payday was on Wednesday so bought (another) set of wheels! Spoke to Barry at Mazdabeat and he sorted me out an awesome deal and the new wheels were with me the following day! I booked the car in at my local STS Tyre Pros for a set of Pirelli P1 195/50/15 tyres to be fitted.

Rota RKR Front 15x8j ET0 and Rear 15x9j ET0

The car is going into the body shop in the middle of June, gonna get the side stripes removed as they no longer go with the wheels. Also gonna lower the front abit more so its level with the back
