Love the Clubmans. Did they ever find a permanent fix for the timing chains?
Yea they stopped making the N14 engine as used in various Citroen and Peugeo models, and replaced it with the n18, although still early days to know if that version is affected the same way.Various camchain tensioner revisions failed to cure the N14.
After all the mods I've done to the car it was always on the cards to take the old girl on a trackday to see how they worked together. Booked in at Brands Hatch, the car went really well, performed brilliantly, didn't miss a beat & surprised a couple of other cars out on track too .
A few pics of the day..
Had a bit of cleaning to do the day after
Really enjoying this car, many people have asked if I prefer it over my old Hartge tuned r53, the answer is always a resounding yes.
Even changed my PH 'handle' too

The cars been running great, no problems to report since the map was done. Did get the chance to take it on the strip at Santa Pod in February, weather pretty cold & the track was 'green' too, ran a best of 14.2 @ 102mph, quite pleased with that considering the conditions, should be able to get into the high 13's I reckon now that there's been some big meetings on & more rubber laid down on the track.
Mod wise, not too much, managed to find a nice flat bottommed steering wheel from the bay of E, very pleased with it, not many MINI's around with these too

Also fitted a bigger bonnet scoop which lets more air into the AEM intake through the under bonnet system.
Also had the wheels re-furbed recently too, they were a nightmare to keep clean in white, + I was never 100% happy with the colour, it didn't really 'go' with the overall colour scheme of the car. A new colour had to be thought of that was just a bit 'different' to just regular Black....BMW Azurite Black was chosen, it's from their Individual range & quite subtle as it's got a fair bit of Blue metallic Pearl in it, looks like just Black from some angles but you can really see the Blue flecks when the sun hits it, well pleased with how it looks now
