Love the Clubmans. Did they ever find a permanent fix for the timing chains?

Yea they stopped making the N14 engine as used in various Citroen and Peugeo models, and replaced it with the n18, although still early days to know if that version is affected the same way.
Various camchain tensioner revisions failed to cure the N14.

After all the mods I've done to the car it was always on the cards to take the old girl on a trackday to see how they worked together. Booked in at Brands Hatch, the car went really well, performed brilliantly, didn't miss a beat & surprised a couple of other cars out on track too wink.

A few pics of the day..

Had a bit of cleaning to do the day after laugh

Really enjoying this car, many people have asked if I prefer it over my old Hartge tuned r53, the answer is always a resounding yes.

Even changed my PH 'handle' too biggrin

My gosh this is awesome! Cannot believe how much difference a stanced set of wheels and decent suspension helps these!

Hats off to you mate!

Got the Clubbie published in Modern MINI magazine, a few pics from the 6 page article...

Also got a big MINI/mini show coming up at Santa Pod next weekend, we'll have to see if I can get into the low 14 second mark with the re-map biggrin

Sadly the MINI show at Santa Pod was a complete wash out so no runs up the strip frown

Had another photoshoot recently with a mate who's an enthusiastic amateur photographer, I think the pics came out better than the one's from the MINI magazine smile

I'm not normally a fan of these at all but it just goes to show what some subtle mods can do. It looks fantastic. Absolutely love your choice of wheels too….cannae beat a good set of chunky 5 spokes in my book.

Nice work John.

This is a truly immaculate car that has been modded with no expense spared on parts.

Thanks again for the kind words guys smile

Haven't updated this for a while....

The cars been running great, no problems to report since the map was done. Did get the chance to take it on the strip at Santa Pod in February, weather pretty cold & the track was 'green' too, ran a best of 14.2 @ 102mph, quite pleased with that considering the conditions, should be able to get into the high 13's I reckon now that there's been some big meetings on & more rubber laid down on the track.

Mod wise, not too much, managed to find a nice flat bottommed steering wheel from the bay of E, very pleased with it, not many MINI's around with these too

Also fitted a bigger bonnet scoop which lets more air into the AEM intake through the under bonnet system.

Also had the wheels re-furbed recently too, they were a nightmare to keep clean in white, + I was never 100% happy with the colour, it didn't really 'go' with the overall colour scheme of the car. A new colour had to be thought of that was just a bit 'different' to just regular Black....BMW Azurite Black was chosen, it's from their Individual range & quite subtle as it's got a fair bit of Blue metallic Pearl in it, looks like just Black from some angles but you can really see the Blue flecks when the sun hits it, well pleased with how it looks now thumbup

Excellent little car. The Clubman has great proportions, and all the little additions look lovely. Santa Pod time is pretty impressive too...

Hi John, it's looking lovely! I really liked the white wheels but I guess keeping them clean would be a pain!

Only think I'm not sure on is the tinted rear lights!

Sounds like she's going very well with the current mods too!

Hi Steve, yes, the old girls flying, really enjoying the extra power & torque wink

Not missing my old Hartge car at all to be honest, so pleased with the Clubby

How's yours going, have you still got the R53?

Great looking Clubman, like the new wheel colour think it suits it better than the white, would love those seats in my R53 Cooper S biggrin
