Slow progress I know. I'm just home from a few weeks holiday. Before I left, I had delivered the chassis to a spray shop. I then farted about deciding what colour to go for as at the last hour I saw an even brighter shade of green and fell in love.

I'm going to ring today to check progress and then hopefully pick it up on Sunday. Looking at my calendar, my weekends seem to be choca, so hopefully it all gets built in time for Le Mans!

Brilliant progress so far.

Would like to venture into a kitcar build at some point myself.

Rung up the paint shop today. All is good. So I'll be picking it up Sunday and then taking it back to my friends garage where it was dismantled. Not sure how much will get done Sunday though.

Due to the car not being at mine (no garage) and the owner of said garage is a mechanic (useful!), I'll only really be able to make progress on the weekends and they seem to be dwindling as other things come in.

Deadline - Le Mans 24 hour. I leave the Tuesday before!

Hmm that leaves 6 weekends, I'm busy for about half of them. Umm. Bugger. How long do these things take to put back together?!

I'm due to be in the 7, alongside a VX220 turbo on the Portsmouth/ Caen crossing. Leaving Tuesday evening 10:45 (?) and coming back Sunday evening around the same time. Nice crossing if not a little expensive.

If the VX is two up. I've failed in my rebuild.

My 7 is finally out of the spray shop. No nosecone sprayed yet as I'm still waiting on that. My phone then ran out of battery so no photo as yet either although I will update with one! The green looks ace.

To make things worse my work van blew its engine (most likely) today, so the costs of being me are spiraling!

Also, I doubt it'l be rebuilt within a month, which means it won't be on the boat to Le Mans in June, so I need to shift that crossing to someone or lose out on it.

With the over runs from getting it into the garage to strip it down, to delays from the chassis panel man and then the spray painter, the timescale has gone to pot.

I see you are in Hants, I'm next door in West Sussex and although I'm a mechanical numpty I'd be more than willing to help you if you need it? And being a 7 owner now, it would be good (for me) to help smile

Was thinking of keep the anthracite wheels. But they need a refurb either which way.

Wonderful Kawasaki green it is! Really like the colour, nice and bright.

Unfortunately i'm mountain biking in Wales next week and then on Holiday in Croatia for a week, so my weekends have gone to shot. I've called off my Le Mans crossing in this cars name, I'm jumping in a VX220 Turbo. A right annoyance, but I need it ready for a few weddings in august and a road trip in august also.

When I do get around to building it (!), I'll ask my garage owner friend to see if he minds the odd bit of help. Not being my house/ garage I can't just accept the help like that, but thank you very much for your offer, very kind. Sounds like the blind leading the blind!

Fantastic colour!

Love this build so far - wish I had the time to do something like it.

Time is something I seem to be running out of. My van blew it's Turbo and hopefully not the engine as well on Thursday evening, so I'm currently at home awaiting that to be taken to a garage. That wasn't in my budget!

Surprised you're not swapping the turbo yourself - obviously not scared of a spanner?

Not 100% sure if it is just the Turbo, hopefully limited to that and not the engine. Also it's time issues. I hardly seem to have time to build this before I ship off in November (that better not turn out to be true!) so I'm let someone have a go. If all is diagnosed and the Turbo just needs swapping, I'd happily carry it out.
