I have one of these (without the police history). Get an e-maps remap and get some swirl flap blanks fitted. Good choice of Labrador lugger.
Already booked in for service and swirl flap removal. smile

Driver training cars get driven very hard, but they also get looked after very well.
Hopefully you're right. smile

Whats it like underneath? Being a north east car most are rusty pigs.
I did have a look and it was clean and no sign of tinworm.

It will be straight up on the ramps for a good check when I get it.

Looks nice and clean. Did you notice the post on there saying "Now at SMA auctions with 69,957 miles on the clock"? Not sure if this related to this car, or perhaps a mistake?
My mistake its just clicked over to 70k so it all sounds right. smile

Had a few ex-Police Omega Estates and Mondeo hatches from the auctions. All done loads of miles, no recorded service historys, usual odd bodywork scars etc. - and always great cars! I think every one that I bought sailed straight through an MOT test immediately after purchase. Real properly looked after and maintained.

The worst thing to sort can be the interior stuff on some of them in my experience.
This is good news!

A few panels inside were loose and a good bargaining point, but nothing to bad, I even fixed one when I was there.

All ex plod.
Yeah I know the one. My friends Dad has had at least 2 Volvo's from there that I can think of and they were both okay.

It looks like a good buy

I like it. My auntie had an old ex police Senator a few years back and never caused her any bother. They get looked after better than a normal car would.

Nice to have a bit of a history with the photos. Don't know how the officers could have lived with that drivers side mat with the accelerator pedal. I had one like that on my BMW and it lasted about 10 minutes then I put it in the boot and bought proper ones. I used to live in Durham so I am sure I would have seen it wizzing past.

Bet you can't wait for the weekend.

Does it feel/go any faster than a normal 330d? I remember a few years ago, my mate had an ex-Police dog van, went like stink compared to other Escort vans (or it could have been the way he drove it, he was Italian!!)

Couldn't figure out why it looked sleaker than other E46 tourings then realised it's not got any roof rails - looks nicer to me.

What's the big deal? It's not like we've asked him his wage or his medical history.

I'm sure the car had an advert price so pretty sure what's asked is public anyway. OP asked if he'd bought a diamond - well really depends on the value in addition to the spec, not just spec alone.

Not sure what the big deal is about saying 'I paid £2.5k for it'.

P.s I've just seen the price in the pic. Here ends the 'mystery' sorry I asked rolleyes

Sort of is. He didn't volunteer it, why press him?

No it's not. He came on to a public forum, showing his car, its advert, a history file and asking views. That's not exactly keeping it private.

This is a car forum, just interested in cars and their values. Couldn't give a st about the OPs own financial status.

Ok, I see your point. I just think that he would have volunteered it if he wanted it known, and he hasn't.

He might be chuffed as nuts he managed £100 off screen price and a tank of fuel. I reckon it's unlikely the PH mob would agree, only leading to unnecessary and avoidable negatives for the OP.

I would always avoid stating what I'd paid for a car if posting on a forum, because the last thing I want when selling it for purchase price +100% is someone finding what I paid for it on a thread. hehe
