Titivating my Mercedes 124

Good to see it back together and looking well.

It's a sizeable bill but against that you have the car back in significantly better condition than before the collision. So once again it's partly investment into long term future service rather than simply being a repair.

It's not a small bill, but given the level of damage and replacement parts it seems about right to me.
I had a low speed interaction with a wall in my X6 resulting in a mangled bumper, wing and headlight. Essentially the corner of the car was removed.
Total bill was £4200. It was all bolt on stuff, no structural damage at all.

He has done a good job of that - I would not spot that it has been repaired.

Got it back! The Man has done a really good job, I must say.

The sound proofing has made a marginal difference, especially at speed.









The air con gets gassed up and the front exhaust section fitted by Baister first thing tomorrow.

Utterly splendid. Proof, if proof were needed, that the odometer and number plate are the two least important indicators of a car's quality, usability and desirability.

Thanks all, it is great to have it back.

Rather than work this evening, I stuck the left over sound deadening material in the tailgate (where there is none) and in the boot floor above the exhaust back box (where the existing material had come unstuck and was breaking up). Then I changed the little vertical chrome bar on the grille for a new one, the existing one having a bit of a dent in it. Obsessive, I know.

Good news. I suspect the MB exhaust wasn't cheap but if they're anything like the 210, they are made well.
