The car's looking brilliant smile nice to see this thread resurface, gives me an excuse to read through it again. I'm really impressed with your approach and willingness to go out and race the thing even though you're still midway into your to do list - it's all experience!

Best of luck today, look forward to seeing some onboard footage.

Thanks all - get regular comments on the way down "I used to have on of these" etc which is always fun

Car headgaset has gone unfortunately but I got it through both races.

Qualifying - Absolutely soaking torrential ran so a bit of a write off, but qualified 11/20 cars which I was pleased with. i had done a bit of testing the day before which helped me learn the track again.

Race 1. Brilliant fun, got in to some new tussles further up the field as the car was turning in and gripping so much harder and pulled well with the new changes. Unfortunately 2 laps before the end the car developed a big rear end vibration which slowed me right down and I had to give back 2 places finishing 6th in class

Sunday morning we found a bolt had sheered off the prop which meant the prop wasn't balanced and it made a horrendous vibration. A new bolt was sourced and cut and luckily it was sorted. However the coolant was blowing out the header tank and the system was pressurizing which meant HG was blown. But I threw in some radweld and topped it back up for race 2 and she made it round!

Sunday Race. Even better than Saturday, got further up the field and avoided a couple of very wide cars and spins. I finsihed 3rd in class and got my first glass wear. Header tank dumped itself again but engine didn't overheat! Video to follow and pictures.

Whilst I was at the track I was handed my trophies I missed out on from the January prize giving which included "Driver of the year" which I am delighted about

She now needs a HG before Silverstone...more uodates to follow

Well, this brings back memories! I used to drive an XJ40 XJR many moons ago, so for me it is quite interesting to see the path you have taken with it. It does look like you are doing a sterling job with the car.

Removed the other main bean today, and made up some mesh ducts. Black as well for a change

I like the satin grill, so decided to match the rest of the car, hope I etched and primed properly. I like the results, thoughts?

Just read the whole thread, the jag looks awesome. Didn't notice it anywhere but do you know what it weighs now vs when you stock?

Thanks

It's about 1750 Standard and now weighs about 1600 with me in it, and I can lose another 100kg if I can work out where I can lose it from. I'd have an exact figure but the scales at most of the tracks are too short to fit my wheelbase on

At Brands at the moment, updating this whilst sat in the van watching a wet qualifying session. Yesterday was a dry race and qualifying, got third in class in both. Great battle for first, second and third. The wet race today should be great fun, I'm looking forward to it. I shall update where I finish tomorrow and the videos also. And a hello to the guy (didn't get your name) who came over and said hello after reading this thread. Cheers

I realised as I saw these in the Paddock that I was sure someone from PH was in this series.

Looked like you were having an awesome fight on Saturday dicing for the entire race.

Is the suspension on these Jags standard? as they looked like a handful for the majority of the field.

Couple of my photos of your Jag through paddock hill:

Awesome Cheers

Yes some of them are close to standard, depends on the class. They are a constant handful anyway.

Today's Race: Was a very wet one, but boy was it fun. I finished 6th overall and 1st in Class so I'm bloody delighted, video of the race to follow - I just want to do it again!!
