Nice car. You might get a more even response if you join BMWLand.

Dont know what is wrong with showing you have something nice and new, deciding someone is a "show off" when really he is just eager to talk about his new car, which is a big deal to him, like it is to all us car perverts, are we only able to mention our new wheels if under two grand and a bit dog eared ? however you cut it, with a 50 grand car it can come across a bit look at me, so what ?
Ill exlain the 'show off' comment I made. In his original thread, the title basically said I've made an impulse purchase of £75K on the best car in the 'real' world.

To me that's a bit showy offy, theres no need to mention the price (especially as we find out later he hasn't paid that amount anyway).

Anyway thats just my opinion.

I'm not lambasting you for your choice of car.

Yeah, true, can see that but we dont live in a Stalinist regime, sometimes we have something good to tell others about, got to take your chances when you can, he is pleased with it and excited, let him have his moment, probably years of studying, working, saving, struggling etc to get to the point where he could afford it.

Sod being all humble and modest, it just doesnt work when doing a thread about a 75/50 grand car !

No, just my opinion....which was your comment that I replied to.

I'll tell you what...I'll stop replying to your comments. Perhaps for the sake of cordiality, you should do the same.

I did let hm have his moment, I didn't comment on the original thread which I found show iffy, the fact that he then started another was double 'show iffy' so had to comment ;-)

I was lambasting your posting style more than anything.

Lets agree to disagree, you keep enjoying your £75k car.

Now perhaps you can pretend this is a car forum for petrol-heads rather than a forum to discuss the nuances of the English Language and Vernacular.
Jeez... you made a (bold) statement about a car and we are discussing it, or do you just want people to say how amazing your new '£75K' car is.

Its a discussion forum people will have differing opinions.
You wouldn't believe that reading this forum, seems if you ain't wetting your knickers with excitement 'cause some bloke you'll never knew bought a new car, you are the devil incarnate.

Why oh why do people reply to threads they find show offy, or about cars they don't like, resulting in arguments and general back stabbing and bullst. If you don't like the poster, the car, the topic, the fact the poster has more money than you etc etc, find another fking thread.

? its a bloody discussion forum, why are you so upset that people will have differing opinions on a place that is meant for differing opinions.

I`m bias owning a 645ci (probably because I couldn`t afford a 635d)

But surely when you start spending more than £50k you`d prefer to run a petrol. I know I would.
