Like the OP I am blown away with the GC.
Picked mine up a month ago and just gone past 1000 miles in it.
The size is a consideration, it does feel quite large on the road but that aside what an absolutely amazing car. Having had all manner of vehicles this rates in my top two.
If I considered all the cars I have owned, with the exception of the Defender 110, I would pick this again.
Amazing car that is obviously unloved by press and public, but defies logic in terms of handling and comfort.
(I do wish i had the heated steering wheel though, rooky mistake forgetting that).
Try the Schnitzer suspension. Costs buttons and make the car feel half the size on the road.Picked mine up a month ago and just gone past 1000 miles in it.

If you have deeper pockets, the £3000 engine kit is also a huge winner

You can't get a 640d anywhere near £290/mth
Yes you can - £281.97 + Vathttps://www.gateway2lease.com/cars/bmw/6-series-gr...
Only £40 more a month than a 520d M Sport hence my interest.

I wish mine had adaptive cruise.
Ditch those horrid runflats for a much nicer ride

£290/pm? Blimey - that's a huge amount of very nice car for the money!
As per my other thread, I did like the 640d, but having driven the new 7 subsequently, I now realise that the 6GC dynamics and interior are a generation behind, nice though they are. The new 7 has it beaten at everything, except of course the looks - I still think the 6GC is one of the best looking cars on the road.
I pay £290pm for mine, it's 5 years old with £10k down and another 4.5 years of paymentsAs per my other thread, I did like the 640d, but having driven the new 7 subsequently, I now realise that the 6GC dynamics and interior are a generation behind, nice though they are. Here's another one sub £290 a month ex VAT for a brand new 640d M Sport GC. £2.5k down, 23 month deal.

Why pay more for a 5 year old car?

Mainly because I'm doing around 25,000 miles pa. http://www.easternbmw.co.uk/cars/6-series/6-series...

The car was £25k, (circa £27.5 inc the Bmw finance) should be worth around £8k to £10k at the end.
It's therefore "costiing £17k over 5 years" around £3,500 pa.
Leases are not so lucrative when doing big miles, that deal above is only for 6,000 miles pa.
The lease deals over a five year period based on only 6,000 miles per year would cost for the 5 year term are £27,500 including vat. Plus excess mileage charges of say 10p per mile that's another £9,500.
That's £38,000 over the same period in lease costs, effecting double.
Not quite as cheap when you break it down

Sorry to sound pedantic but that G2L lease deal is plus VAT with a big deposit. So £11k for 2 years or £450ish/mth. And that's for 6000 miles pa and is business only. I've looked everywhere for a cheap 640d personal lease, they don't exist right now
Anyway, Ham Ham, you say the new 7 is streets ahead of the 6 is interesting. How does the 6 compare to your 440i dynamically? Your comment put me off a 6 series a little, but I think I need to put it into perspective considering the 7 is brand new and probably £80k!

Don't get me wrong, the 6 was a very good car dynamically, but the new 7 is a whole generation of engineering, chassis and steering tech, etc, ahead, and accordingly it drives that much better. But the 6 won't disappoint.
I'm not sure you can compare the 4 to the 6 - two cars with very different remits. The 4 is, as you would expect, far more nimble, has better steering, and is far flatter in the corners. But mine does have that M Sport suspension gubbins, which makes it a much more sporty drive than a non-M Sport 4 cab that I drove a while back. It's also a whole lot smaller, so less room, and the interior is much less of an 'event' - hence I went for the red in the 4 to try and liven it up. And of course it doesn't look anywhere near as nice!

Do you or anyone else know if the M6GC's are equally comfy? Picked mine up a month ago and just gone past 1000 miles in it.

This vid 640d sums up perfectly.

My only concerns are
1. Seats seem slightly small
2. Leather not that luxurious unless you have nappa.
Weirdly - people do look at you as though its a super-car
For the price.. I'd trade my 535d for one I think, even feels quicker - no idea why? You know??
