This is great!

Have you competed in any events in it yet?

Haha, no not yet! I was meant to enter the Llandow sprint but found my car was running too low (we all have to run @40mm whereas my car was nearer 25mm at the front. Turns out I have the wrong size tyres for the setup sheet I have.

I've since acquired some tyres at the correct size (the F3 boys use the same size and throw them away after a race weekend despite having rubber on them!) so I should now be running at the right height. I was hoping to have something booked in June but all my weekends have weddings or holidays! I do hope to sneak in another test day though.

Next race is the Dick Mayo sprint at Castle Combe

Not much progress until this weekend as I've been busy.

Just a reminder of how it looked:

And how it looks now:

Thank you very much! I share that view biggrin

There is a couple of cosmetic bits and pieces to sort out and for some reason the exhaust is slightly out of alignment so I need to just trim of a little fibreglass.
I've also got a little bit of fibreglass to repair

Nice. Front wheel looks small in that arch for some reason.

It's clearly begging to be driven! wink

You're right, the wets that are on it right now are actually the wrong size. I have some slicks that are the correct size and the radius is a little larger. It does still look like it needs bigger tyres though

thumbup Cheers

It's got it's wet weather shoes on which are actually too small, slicks will be going on Saturday which are larger and fill the arches better

You will love it.I raced a van dieman 89 in the north west championships years ago. Trackdays will never be the same ever again :-)
Hope all goes well ... Main thing is bring it and yourself back in one piece.

I managed to get one video from my 1st timed run at Castle Combe on Saturday. Excuses first... I'd only ever driven the car once, in the wet and with geometry that was out. Since then I've sorted the geo, got newer tyres (used) albeit circuit compound rather than super soft Sprint compound and changed the bodywork completely so the car is completely different. I was very concious that I didn't know how the car would react at the limit and CC is not the place to find out! For that reason I was slow around the corners whilst I build up my confidence and knowledge of the car.

So here goes...

http://youtu.be/JjvlSXi65f0

The best times were ~62s and I improved from 83s down to just under 73s (on the final run, after this one).

Had an awesome time... I'll get faster with experience and newer tyres!
