Very nice motor OP, we had a 2006 E90 330d for 6 years and loved it to bits so much so that I have currently got a 2006 E90 330i as I think they make cracking all rounder`s, both were left standard though...because I am an old git!!!

Like the changes you have made...you don't half get stuck in, just the black grills I am not a fan of but appreciate there isn't any other chrome bits on the car.

Enjoy it smile they offer great performance coupled with great economy...that's the problem with my 330i once you start using the throttle it soon drops below 20 mpg but you don't get that problem with the 330d as it offers the best of both worlds. driving
thank you, yes some people dont like the black grills, for me iam not a fan of chrome and with so many BMW's on the road, was trying to make it a little different, plus i have the black edging around the windows etc. I probably would of opted for the 330i or the 335i aswell if i didn't have to do so much millage for work. Iam seeing an avergae of about 40 mpg mixed with motorway and london traffic which iam happy with given the performance
Yes I am a massive fan of yours and to be honest if I was doing more miles I would have gone with the 330d again as the 330i has nowhere near the mid range shove of the 330d, that mpg figure is impressive, I love how you have got stuck into the car and made it lovely and individual. smile

I would of loved an M3, but the low MPG, high tax band and high insurance and running costs given my millage would of been impossible. Would be nice if i could afford one as weekend car.

cheers. the wraps a right pain in the bum hole, took a few attempts to get it right. I used a hair dryer to warm it up to help stretch it around the corners.

Yes BMW E90 Sedan, google it. loads of pics come up. Iam guessing it just means 4 doors and not a coupe ?

You did a much better job on the wrap than I did! I have no patience.

Americanisms irritate the hell out of me. Saloon.

I think a M3 would work better as a weekend car to be honest, I ran a M3 as a daily and I prefer my 330i as it pretty much does everything the M3 did for the majority of the time anyway but doesn't pull your pants down regards running costs as the M3 doesn't offer enough reward for me personally to justify its running costs.

Yes owned six of them now including two "M" cars, I am a really big fan of the marque but when I say I love the E90 330d I genuinely mean it, they are spot on and you have made a great choice imo. smile

Thanks. I did contemplate a 335D, but the higher asking price and slightly lower MPG put it me off a little. Plus they only come in an Auto. Not having ever owned one i dont know how id feel about an Auto, i might of loved it with the paddle shifts behind the steering wheel. Guess i played it safe with the 330D manual

It is a difficult one as I really wanted my M3 as a manual so I purchased it with one but the 330d was an Auto and in many ways it suits the torque characteristics of the engine but my 330i is an Auto and I made a big mistake and I wished I had held out for a manual as the petrol engine just doesn't suit an Auto.

I was exactly like you though I have always liked the idea of a 335d but Auto only put me off as its not a great Auto either imo but I suppose it does keep you in the power band of a diesel power plant... its a tricky one to be honest.

Wow, that is stunning. Tasteful mods that really do improve the look of the car I reckon. I was really amazed by the carbon wrap inside, looks fantastic!

What's she like after the remap by Simon? Noticeably better?

Thanks, I might test drive a 335D just to see what its like.

Thanks. Yes the map gained 40 BHP and 100 NM of torque still using the standard clutch, The car feels very different, just has that extra kick when you need it over standard form. Very happy with the map.

Can highly recommend the remap by Simon. I have a 07 E91 330d getting 45 mpg average at the moment on the commute. Again claimed 271 bhp but not put on R-R

I really like this although I'd get rid of the spolier at the top of the rear window

You might want to look into the DPF delete though as I think I read that they are checking for it in the MOT

iam keeping the upper spoiler as its different from standard. iam putting an oem tailgate spoiler on anyway, so they might compliment each other more.

Thanks for the info about the DPF removal. i didn't actually know that it was an MOT failure now. hmmmm might have to reconsider it now.

How about an LCI conversion whilst you're changing the bootlid?

Looking good. Liking the work you've done from it apart from the wind deflectors for the windows.

Otherwise, great effort. cool

It's your car, i doubt you would like my car by comparison either. I'd be interested to see the spoilers together, it might work well. I do think the saloon is so much nicer than the coupe

Cheers mate. The wind deflectors were actually more for function then looks. unfortunately I smoke in the car and find them very useful on the mototrway. I did remove the rear ones as they looked stupid and dont really function like the front ones do.

Genuine tailgate, rear spoiler and led rear lights fitted. Gives a much more modern look as these are on the 2012 saloons.

Just need the rear lights coded as the indicators are blinking like when you have a bulb out. The car doesn't pick up the led voltage drop.
