I really like this although I'd get rid of the spolier at the top of the rear window

You might want to look into the DPF delete though as I think I read that they are checking for it in the MOT

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/consumer-new...
iam keeping the upper spoiler as its different from standard. iam putting an oem tailgate spoiler on anyway, so they might compliment each other more.

Thanks for the info about the DPF removal. i didn't actually know that it was an MOT failure now. hmmmm might have to reconsider it now.

How about an LCI conversion whilst you're changing the bootlid?
you saying that, ive just picked up a standard LCI rear tailgate and rear lights to keep me going for now.

Looking good. Liking the work you've done from it apart from the wind deflectors for the windows.
Otherwise, great effort. cool
Cheers mate. The wind deflectors were actually more for function then looks. unfortunately I smoke in the car and find them very useful on the mototrway. I did remove the rear ones as they looked stupid and dont really function like the front ones do.

Genuine tailgate, rear spoiler and led rear lights fitted. Gives a much more modern look as these are on the 2012 saloons.

Just need the rear lights coded as the indicators are blinking like when you have a bulb out. The car doesn't pick up the led voltage drop.

My headlights are halogen, and was looking to the lci xeon headlights as they don't need coding. Just wondered if it was worth doing the LCI front upgrade, just needs the bonnet and bumper. I like the lci bonnet, has two swag lines going down it in a V shape.

Thanks.

The standard seats are more comfortable then they look, they just look too boring and simple though. My last car had R32 Heated Konigs and iam missing them, so thought id try these in the bimmer. Might get the back seats retrimmed in the same nappa leather diamond stitching if the fronts look out of place.

Also fitted some Eibach 5mm rear spacers (10mm per axel) and 3mm front spacers (6mm per axel). Also fitted Genuine LCI Auto headlight switch which has some small aluminium detailing on it. Fitted some black wheel bolts and locking nuts and BMW centre Caps.

Next up will be the rear exhaust and BMW performance rear diffuser, Wagner Evo intercooler and some LCI Xeon angel eye headlights.

Also when you do the xenon conversion are you going down the full factory route with self levelling sensors and headlight washers?
Yes the full MOT friendly genuine BMW setup. My bumper already has headlight washers anyway.

It looks like a totally different car and I mean that in a good way. biggrin
cheers. Should see a bit of weight saving as well. Each seat is only 10KG, plus what ever the subframes weigh. Iam going to weigh the original seats and see what they come in as.

Ill get some better pics of the interior on the weekend. I still got to wire in the heating switches yet. was in no rush to do that yet anyway given our current weather.

Cheers. Prices are eye watering, but wouldnt mind some for my Scirocco.

How do you find them for comfort etc? Any long journeys?

Very jealous!
Well Iam 6ft 3 and just under 14 stone, and I find the thigh bolsters tight and the seats abit hard, but I have been told that I need to allow upto 8 weeks for the leather and stitching to stretch and take the shape of your body. The other issue I have is the subframes for these seats only slide backwards and forwards and I could do with subframes that have a tilt function like the originals. I've done a 4 hour journey. 2-3 hours there ok, 3 or more and I started to get lower back ache even with lumbar support. Having said that I've only had the seats in for a few weeks. They are very nice looking and well built lightweight seats (10kg each compared to the originals of 25kg), and I opted for the extra heated and lumbar support option. Iam still yet to find the ultimate setup for these seats for my body.

Ok, so i retrofitted a genuine BMW 12v outlet in the boot, so i can run appliances in the boot particularly a mini fridge. I collect a small 15L 12V fridge from maplin for £40 and it fits the boot just nice. There are 2 anchor points in the boot so i will use a bungee cord to keep the fridge in place.

Cars also booked in tomorrow morning for a custom 335D style exhaust.

Hi mate,

Nice car, I have just got a 55 plate saloon, I am new to the e90, can the LCI rear lights only be fitted with a replacement tailgate?

Cheers
Hi, yes for lci rear lights you need the lci tailgate. About £300 for tailgate and lights, and about 1 hour to swap over. The lci lights are LED so need abit of coding aswell.

i would suggest mounts for the fridge with 21 bhp...
Iam using a bungee cord with the 2 rear mounting points in the boot. Doesn't move an inch.

Ok, so the Genuine BMW performance diffuser wasn't exactly a straight fit. It wouldn't sit flush, like in the picture of this blue one.

A bit of digging around on the internet and i found info that suggested you have to trim your rear bumper to make it fit. So thats what i did.

A few pics with the new BMW Performance rear dffuser, Style Dynamics custom 335 exhaust and some interior shots
