No insults I just think you'd get more positive responses from a website/forum more into the same type of modifying.

PH is known for giving people stick if they start showing off their 'stance' and stretched tyres. You've been on here long enough that you must have read some of the threads around it. Just trying to give you a heads up. Seems pretty futile though.

In which case you go for it kid. Tried ma'best.

Join Edition38 forums, you'll like it there, and banded steels aren't expensive, just scour ebay/edition38 classifieds or you can pay for a set to be banded

Some posters on PH come across as complete cocks! If the OP likes his car what is the problem about being enthusiastic? Keep us updated OP driving

I wouldn't criticise you for watching MCM - those guys are awesome. But some of the things you say come across quite cringey. Nice little car you've got there though, at 18 I was still going about in a 1.2 Clio with a whole 60bhp.

It's also nice to see another younger person actually interesting in driving a car. I've got a mk1 mx5 and so many of the under 25's on the forums are stancing their cars which looks utter wk to me.

I used to own a Cupra TDi 160 when they first come out. Revo put on a extra special map which took bhp up to 202 and torque to 320lbs/ft.

Always put a grin on my face that car.

OP, now you just have to get rid of the paintwork and rub beer and salt on the bare metal MCM-style wink

OP I know exactly how you feel.

I had a 1.4 polo then drove my mum's 1.6 Astra for a little bit then bought an R56 Cooper S.
175bhp feels like a lot and to be honest I was sh*t scared driving it for the first week or so. Every so often I'd have a. Shot in my mums car then return to the mini and get that "mind blowing" power when the turbo comes on boost haha!

It turns out it was too fast being written off by a named driver. We seriously considered a 1.9tdi mk5 polo to remap, it could've been almost as quick as the mini but with 50mpg.

When I was 19 had a clio 172 which I kept for 3 years. Felt quite quick when I first got it but as with everything,I got used to it,to a point where it felt quite slow. My mate at the time had a fabia vrs with remapto around 175bhp,and even though it wasnt any quicker than the clio,,the way it produced power from the low down torque, always made the clio feel slow, and in everyday driving felt so much quicker than the clio, without all the fuss.

I thought it would have more torque to be honest, around the 300ft/lb mark.

Tuned TDIs are good for covering ground quickly and effortlessly.

Its the power to weight ratio which is impressive. The back seats where removed today as I don`t need them aswell as the space saver. The power in the car is perfect and the handling is spot on. Its time to shed weight. Any one know how I can control the tire spinning in gear 1 and 2 as a little press on the gas it spins. As a result of this I have to set of really slow.

If you guys are around Hertforshire you should have a go on the B roads (Coopers ln etc) its really fun in the corners (not if you are in a 1.4 golf aka jelly mobile).
