If you guys are around Hertforshire you should have a go on the B roads (Coopers ln etc) its really fun in the corners (not if you are in a 1.4 golf aka jelly mobile).

I need to calculate that, getting the car put on scales as well as checking the BHP on Saturday. The tyres im not sure which make they are haven't really checked. I think a new set of tyres will be needed, which I will do when the BBS goes in for a refurb next week.

The same black and green outing as they really suit the car. It just has a few curbing marks but I love the orginal bbs alloys wouldn't want to change them. The green outing matches the colour of the car. Its one of the key features that people look at.

I don't know if you can see it, but the area around the vw badge are quite corroded. That`s the same on all the rest.

I bought continental tyres today for the car (previous ones where some unknown brand) and it has improved the grip but still spinning the tires in 1st, 2nd and even 3rd today when it was raining. Its quite dangerous but I mean it handles spot on but just spins when you give a boot full.

Well the new exhaust would give an extra 4-5 bhp and including the diet. Im pushing for 185bhp possibly? Around the same torque level (242-245). If it does reach that then id think that would be more than enough. I think this car would just need more stripping e.g carpets, audio, power steering pump.

Less weight will give you less traction.

By better mapping I don't mean more power, just a less severe power curve.

I imagine at the minute its nothing > nothing > nothing > OMGBOOST > wheeze > change gear
That is 100% accurate

This car does not smoke but the exhaust have turned black. Quite surprised as I only had them done on Saturday. From that new silver chrome to black is quite awful. Any ideas on how to get that sparkle back or cleaning tips?

That`s what its all building up to! My dad has a westfield ztec which he does trackdays in, we are planning to take the polo aswell to donington-park. The plan is to finish the polo first then take it out. The polo has become a second car, I use it on the weekends and soon shows. My dad has recently acquired an audi a8, part of the new company. So I drive his car which is an 07` BMW 320d its much more comfortable to drive in to work as the polo is a bit un practical now. Its boring and normal.

I bet the BMW isnt much slower than the Polo and probably handles better. Strange how subjective people's experiences are!
All I said it was boring and normal in my opinion. Its just a normal car, it handles well and has good acceleration all round good car. Its a good work horse.
