Good lad, glad to hear it. I see you're with someone else then .
Hopefully, I'm going to be putting £3k into it while its off the road tidying it up and making it mechanically sound, so hopefully the value will reflect this in due course when I eventually come to sell it.
Still want another turbo charged car though!
Liking the work on the rear lenses, can definitely see the improvement!
Cheers mate they do look better but not by much after the council decided to dig up the pavement outside my house today!Hopefully, I'm going to be putting £3k into it while its off the road tidying it up and making it mechanically sound, so hopefully the value will reflect this in due course when I eventually come to sell it.

Can't think of anything turbocharged and practical for £700
Yes the new gf is working out well so far! Mental as fk though!

bds!! Why cant they warn people of this properly so you can move your car etc? I had this happen to me in Hull, no warning, just dug a big hole outside my driveway. Wasnt even going to cover it until I complained!!Can't think of anything turbocharged and practical for £700

I was thinking Rover 820 Vitesse Sport. I had one back in the day and regret selling it.
Good stuff! hahahaha, I think they all are, are they not? lol

I had an STi WRX several years ago. The most hateful car I have ever owned, and I have owned a Maestro 2.0D!
Shame to hear that, I owned a 2002 for 6 years and loved every minute of it, recently sold it along with my mx5 in favour of an SLK for the daily drive.Got to admit the merc is a lot comfier and more refined Thant both the mx5 and the Subaru

Mine was a 94, it had been ruined by a previous owner tbh. I owned it for 4 weeks.Got to admit the merc is a lot comfier and more refined Thant both the mx5 and the Subaru

Had one of them too and hated it too, don't blame you
I did briefly consider a Bug / Blob Eye, but I wanted some mod cons. I'm sure they're decent cars, but not as a DD for me. Besides, I need something that is BETTER on fuel than my M5 LOL. My Impreza wouldnt do any more than 200 miles to a tank, regardless of how I drove it!TheAngryDog said:

Agreed thirsty cars with rather basic comforts, it's replacement (SLK) is a lot better in fuel and rather more comfortable.Edited by NashGT on Friday 2nd May 15:08
Well, payday arrived so bought the following:
Decat pipe and decat bracket
Set of turbo gaskets including manifold to turbo gasket, turbo to decat gasket and water/oil pipe gaskets.
Swan neck spanners.
Torque Wrench
...and a few other bits. Going to have fun next weekend! Pics to follow. Will not be taking off the manifold - if it turns out to be the gasket between the head and manifold i'll take it to my mechanic. Don't fancy the fun of removing the exhaust manifold and stripping threads...

Rover 820 is a very interesting choice!
I was actually considering a Turbo Impreza of a similar age to my MR2 but the insurance was over 1/3rd more.
Yep, a little left field Doubt I'll get one though, as they're too thin on the ground. Upping my budget to £1k for a DD as well if I havent found one by pay day (which will be a week after I've taken my car off the road).I was actually considering a Turbo Impreza of a similar age to my MR2 but the insurance was over 1/3rd more.
Insurance on Impreza's is a little bit higher, I think it is mainly down to how many have been crashed / stolen.

I've never an SLK, but I can see it being more comfy etc, but not sure about performance?
Certainly comfier, power wise doesn't compare to the impreza, the SLK is nippy enough for a car it's size but doesn't match the impreza as that was running 315bhp.My only regret is not having gone for the 230 or 320 will certainly look into that in the future, for now will look into remapping it and fitting a bigger crank pulley to free a bit more power

What are they and where from .
Are they the cancer bars ?
How do you find them ?
I made them out of 1" 12 guage CDS (my neighbours pay me in CDS at the moment ). I'll be flogging them on eBay @ £60 a pop soon, but if you want a pair, PM moi. These are the pre-production ones (the ones to take the jigs from), but they worked out so well I decided to pop them on my car rather than put them in the scrap pile to be weighed in. Yep, "cancer bars", although some folk include the smaller engine support stays in that description.
