As for the brakes, they seem to work pretty well. Fronts are the same as V6 calibra, Vectra etc, all of which weigh more than this. I'll probably need to get some decent pads for the track, the ones in there are in the calipers when I got them from the breakers yard! lol.
Vectras and Calibras don't develop quite as much power as this though Love it! Bet you've surprised a few people with that? Out of interest how does the tac work on it? Always wondered this do you have to pay tax for each engine or just the vehicle (I.e 2 x 2.0 or 1 x 4.0) and I bet your insurance co. Laughed all the way to the bank! Wanted to do something like this for a while but I imagine the costs are huge to get it road legal and above board?
Unless of course you still have it registered/insured as a 1.4 or whatever it was originally....

Superb build. Well done. How did you get it M.O.T'd SVA'd (valid tax disc)? The last twin engine build I helped with had to be scrapped as it would never pass.

Surely you could just register it as a 2 litre engine swap, you're just carrying the rear engine as long as it's producing no drive.
Apart from it's bolted in and connected the rear wheels in such a way to provide drive, you would have a tough time proving you were 'just carrying it'Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
